February Empties

Image
Not as much progress this month with the empties.   Skincare and Make up   * Ziaja Micellar Water - I used this most mornings for cleansing but it does slightly irritate my eyes so I don't use it for eye make up removal. * Holika Holika - Aloe Facial Cleansing Foam - After buying this last year I realised that I had a bit of an intolerance to Aloe Vera, so I put this in the shower for the rest of the family to use up. * This Works - In Transit Camera Close Up Mask, Moisturiser and Primer in One - Not an empty but a de-clutter. Tried this out as a mask, moisturiser and primer - none of it worked and I don't want to waste anymore time on a bad product! * Eau Thermal Avene - Extremely gentle lotion cleanser - I bought this last winter when my skin was extra sensitive in the cold weather. It's interesting to note that this winter I haven't suffered at all with sensitive skin, however cold it gets. That must be testament to the products I'm using! * D...

Spacemasks Review

Image
I picked up a box of five Space Masks last summer when there was so much hype about them online.     You can buy a box of 5 Spacemasks for £15 plus P+P HERE   You can also buy an individual Spacemask for £3.50 from Lobella Loves   My interest was initially piqued when I kept reading in reviews the magic sentence "...helped me fall into a deep and satisfying sleep..."   I Love Sleeping! And I'm good at it too! I'm very grateful not to be one of those people that have sleep problems. But there are several occasions when I know that I have to get up at silly o'clock in the morning (generally to go on a very long drive somewhere) and that seems to be the only time when I suffer sleep problems. You think so hard about having to wake up soon that you don't fall asleep and then when the alarm goes off, you feel terrible and not in the best state for a long drive or busy day.   So I bought these masks for those occasions where I really ne...

Weekly Make Up Bag #8

Image
Two months in already with this weekly make-up bag project! But I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the palettes I've still yet to include - so much product and not enough face!!     Here's this week's selection. Heavy on the Nars (but why the hell not?!) and a bit random with the eye make up choices... * Foundation - NEW - Touch in Sol Flawless Skin Top Coat - immediately after applying this morning (on the first day of using this choices) I made the decision to pass this on already (see reasons below). Will replace with another High Street foundation from my stash.   * Concealer - Old - Inglot - Still trying to use this up...   * Powder - Old -  L'Oreal True Match - Kept this in from last week.   * Contour - Old / Fave - Makeup Revolution Contour Palette - Another week for this too.     * Highlighter - Old / Fave - Nars Highlighting Stick in Copacabana - a lovely rose champagne cream - very easy to blend w...

Weekly Make Up Bag #7

There was no way after receiving a Colourpop mini haul in the post, that I'd be able to resist using it straight away, so I admit that I dumped last week's palette on Saturday to start playing with my new Colourpop 'I Think I Love You' palette!     So here's this week's choice. A lot of new items, some old faithfuls and things that need using up.   * Foundation - Old - L'Oreal True Match - I've kept this in the bag for a second week as it was really working well with my skin last week. * Concealer - Old - Inglot - This seems to be never-ending and I really need to use it up! * Powder - Old / Fave - L'Oreal True Match - I didn't get on too well with the MUA loose powder last week - I think I'll stick with pressed powders in the future. * Contour - Old / Fave - Makeup Revolution Contour Palette - Looks like I'll soon be hitting pan on my most-used contour shade (bottom row, second left). * Blush - New - Nars I...

Mini Make Up Haul

Image
After my last Colourpop order arrived with a smashed pan I had a credit note to use up, so I chose the 'I Think I Love You' palette and a couple of pressed eye shadows in mini magnetic compacts. You still have the pain of paying for Customs charges, but if you play it right with your order, it's still worthwhile even with the shipping and customs charge.     I absolutely love my 'Golden State of Mind' palette but the 'I Think I Love You' palette is far more useable as it's a mixture of buttery mattes and highly pigmented metallic shades.     From L-R (top to bottom): Top Row: Bitter Better - soft metallic gold; Bel Air -matte cool taupe; Fancy Face - Bright metallic copper; Girl's Bite - Metallic golden bronze. Middle Row: Howdy - Metallic red bronze; Rowdy - matte ivory; My Treat - Metallic champagne ivory; Level Up - Metallic bright penny copper. Bottom Row: Screw it - Metallic rose gold; Let's Do it - matte black; R...

Weekly Make Up Bag #6

Sticking to one palette last week wasn't a problem at all (especially if that one palette is the Urban Decay - Naked Heat!). I've bought in two palettes this week, but only because I wanted to play with my Colourpop Golden State of Mind palette and I wouldn't want to choose a shimmer-only palette for a whole week's use. Last week I introduced a brand new mascara - the I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara from Essence. First impressions were okay! It was nice and black, slightly clumpy (I just get the feeling that when it's been used a bit it will be less clumpy - maybe?) and had a tiny bit of fall out under the eyes throughout the day, but no huge smudges. It was an absolute pain in the arse to remove though - double-cleansing wasn't enough and I had to go in again with an eye make up remover too. It's a keeper for the time being, but probably wouldn't repurchase. However, it cost just £2.80, so for a budget mascara, it was pretty damn good!   ...

Unboxing ~ Look Fantastic Beauty Box February 2018

Image
It was only to be expected that the February Look Fantastic box was bound to lean heavily towards all things pink, red and romantic for Valentine's Day.   A simple design in two-tones of pink and gold lettering.       One of the best things about the Look Fantastic box is that it arrives so early in the month!   More pink inside and nestled under the free copy of Elle Magazine and the Look Fantastic box leaflet - first glance shows some great brand names in this month's box.     Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream   One of my favourite skincare brands, I don't think there's ever been an Elemis product I haven't loved. However, this cream is being put to the side for a bit while I work my way through some of my ever-growing moisturiser stash.     Dr Paw Paw Original Multipurpose Clear Balm   I already have a tube of this from another beauty box, but I'm more than happy to have a back-up as I...
