November 2017 ~ Empties

Image
Phew-ee! But it's taking some time to work through some of my full sized products. I was hoping that I'd have at least another full size cleanser empty, but still didn't manage it in November. My swim and gym shower bag seems to be the one place where I'm tearing through the products and this is a great place to get through all of those body wash travel sizes I have in my stash.     * Baptiste Dry Shampoo - already repurchased. A staple in my stash for hair emergencies. * Cosrx - Natural BHA Skin-Returning A-Sol - This was one of the first Korean skincare products I bought and to be honest, I wasn't entirely sure what I was buying! Halfway through this product I learned that BHA was better for blemished skin, and that's something I don't really have a problem with. However, I did use this as a toner if my skin had any break outs and slowly and steadily worked my way through it. I won't be repurchasing though as it's not something I nee...

October ~ Empties

Image
You know when someone starts a new business and they don't expect to really a turn a profit in the first year? Well, that's kind of the viewpoint I'm taking with my obsession with all things skincare and make up! I'm allowing myself one year (this year) where I'll go all silly and buy too much and hopefully get it out of my system before concentrating on what I need rather than getting side-tracked by FOMO purchases and "well it was very cheap" purchases and "ooh, sparkly" purchases and "everybody else loves it" purchases.   It's already clear that I have far too many half-finished and unopened products in my stash that I need to get through before buying new ones. And that's not even counting all the samples and travel sizes that I get from beauty subscription boxes (but I'm never giving up those!!) and also review products.   I do have a wish-list and in the new year, I am determined to use up my current...

Beauty in Hanguk Bespoke Beauty Box

Image
I've only been on Instagram since earlier this year and it's definitely overtaken Facebook and Twitter as my social media of choice. Mainly, when I happened upon the Instagram Asian Beauty Community. A tight-knit global community of like-minded fans and obsessives of Skincare (mostly Asian). There are so many well-informed people in this community all posting new skincare finds and favourites, daily skincare routines, reviews of products, monthly challenges, giveaways and hauls. It's certainly opened my eyes to so many new skincare and make-up brands and products but the good side/down side is that my wish-list has grown exponentially! One of my most favourite of these instagrammers is a fabulous woman called Shereen who has just started up her own personal shopping/ bespoke beauty box business direct from Seoul, Korea - called Beauty in Hanguk . I kept seeing her post videos as she went shopping in Seoul and shared her finds and swatched and tested products for us all to...

Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum EX ~ Review

Image
Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum EX   Source It wasn't too long into my skincare discovery journey that I came across the name Sulwhasoo and in particular, this product, the First Care Activating Serum EX would pop up consistently on people's feeds. So whenever a product was so constantly raved about, I would immediately go and check out where to buy and of course, the price. And, oh dear, Sulwhasoo is one of the more higher-end brands in the game and that pretty much put the brakes on immediately for me. Korean brand Sulwhasoo have been around since 1966 when brand originator, Suh Sung-Whan introduced ABC Ginseng cream to the market. Sulwhasoo draw from ancient Korean herbal medicine, and in particular Ginseng (Korea's signature plant) and have become deservedly well-known and revered for their use of holistic and ancient herbal ingredients mixed with modern scientific skincare innovation. Pictured above is what the product looks like. It retails for ar...
