Deviant Skincare

Image
Deviant Skincare Who? Deviant Skincare  are an Indie Skincare brand with the message that they want to desegregate beauty - to deviate from gender specific, age specific and trend driven product development and marketing - hence the name Deviant. " Skincare should simply be the harmony of   purpose and formula: meaningful products, with potent, efficacious ingredients that truly benefit skin". Gentle Resurfacing Liquid £34.00 for 100ml This was a brand new release when I bought it back in late November. It was a complete impulse purchase considering that I'd not tried any Deviant skincare before. The Gentle Resurfacing Liquid is a n exfoliating formula combining a unique cocktail of AHA’s (Mandelic, Lactic, Glycolic, Malic and Citric), BHA (Salicylic Acid) and PHA (Gluconolactone) to gently dissolve the bonds binding dull, dead cells to skin’s surface. It stimulates cell renewal which in turn improves the complexion, softening fine lin...

Ffern - Spring '20 Organic Natural Perfume

Image
Ffern - Spring 20 Who? Ffern are a small batch, artisanal, natural perfumiers who produce just four blends a year based  on the seasonal equinoxes and solstices. Every batch is strictly limited and when they have all sold out, no more are made.   Ffern - Spring 20 £69 per season After quite easily declaring that Ffern Winter 20 is my favourite scent of all time ( read my review here ) I was intensely excited about receiving my bottle of Ffern Spring 20. What's in the box? For £69 per season you receive a limited-run bottle of seasonal natural and organic EDP (32ml) plus a 2ml vial sample which you can try before committing to the full size. These come alongside an information leaflet about the process, the brand and the ingredients. Postage is included in the price. There's absolutely no mistaking when your Ffern package arrives - they also have the most fabulous packaging.  As usual, my first experience of Spring 2...

Walden Natural Perfumes - Rollerball Perfume Sample Set

Image
After receiving a rollerball perfume oil bottle of 'Live the Life' by Walden in my last Love Lula Beauty Box - I was intrigued enough to want to explore this brand and its scents further. I've been using natural scents almost exclusively for the past couple of years now and it's definitely an area I want to embrace further and learn all I can about. Bryanna at The EcoLogical Blog wrote a fantastic detailed post about all the different scents in the Walden collection. In fact, she made them all sound so delicious that I couldn't decide which one to try next, so I opted for the Walden Rollerball Sample Kit (armed with the very generous 25% discount code from the Love Lula Beauty Box). Walden Natural Perfumes - Rollerball Sample Set 7 x 2ml £20.00 These mini rollerball perfumes are just a teensy 2ml each and I was slightly taken aback when I saw them and just how small they were (you'd think at aged 49 I might have some idea of how to visual...

Laidbare - In Safe Hands Hand Cream Review

Image
Laidbare - In Safe Hands Sunflower Hand Cream £6.99 for 50ml What is it? An intensive moisture hand cream for dry/very dry skin. Ingredients Aqua Theobroma Cacao Seed Butter Butyrospermum Parkii Butter Glyceryl Stearate SE Isopropyl Myristate Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil Stearic Acid Persea Gratissma Oil Glycerin Benzyl Alcohol Parfum Tocopherol Linalool Dehydroacetic Acid Geraniol Limonene Benzyl Benzoate Benzyl Salicylate Farnesol Eugenol Citral Scent and Texture Thick white cream. Hard to describe the scent. I really like it though - if I had to choose a description it would be 'peppery'. Maybe it smells of Sunflower - but I don't know what that's supposed to smell like! Thoughts I get through a lot of hand creams. They're one of those products that I view as perfunctory -  they either do the job required of them or they don't! I'll usually use them up and turn to the next one in my stash. It's very rare that I go back ...
