Late to the Party

I'm on a strict no-buy for the next couple of months, so I've been 'shopping my stash' quite a bit and revisiting some of my over-looked products.  It feels quite good to go back to being frugal! Skincare * Naturally Thinking - Orange Blossom Floral Water ( WR ) You can't beat Naturally Thinking for their great value range of cosmetic ingredients. I love their range of floral waters and always buy several a couple of times a year. The Orange Blossom is one of my favourites and I already ordered a back-up so I'll always have some to hand. * Glossier - Milky Jelly Cleanser ( MR ) When I first tried this cleanser I thought, 'this is it - the perfect second cleanser', but after a while I changed my mind a bit! It really does tick all the boxes but the trouble is, it's just a bit too gentle. I love this as a morning cleanser, but after an oil cleanser in the evening, it just feels slightly ineffectual. Skincare * Calm Skin - Refreshing Facial Spritz ( WR ) This is one of those surprisingly good Superdrug own-brand products which is great value for money and is also often on sale. Containing Chamomile,Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide, this refreshing mist is ultra hydrating and is ideal as a spritz between skincare layers. My only gripe is that the spray on the bottle is quite aggressive so I always decant into a bottle with a finer mist. A definite repurchase though. * The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% and Zinc ( WR ) This used to be my absolute favourite item of skincare. It showed great results - clear and bright, healthy-looking skin. But I found it difficult to fit into my skincare routines so I stopped using it ...

Skincare * Natura Estonica - Ginseng & Acai Face Tonic ( WR ) This is the second bottle of this toner that I've bought and I'd definitely buy it again if I saw it (found it in T.K Maxx both times). It's a lovely, refreshing toner which is gentle enough to use on the eyes. I often use it as a morning cleanser too. * Meadow Skincare - Hydration Boost Moisturising Balm ( WR ) One of my favourite brand discoveries from last year and this moisturising balm was one of my favourite products. Some balms are just too much for the face, but this one is ideal as a last step in your night time routine. Well if this doesn't go down as the most bizarre month in the history of our lifetime! Life as we know it has changed completely, but, in fear of sounding too trite, my skincare routines have gone on! It's been a comfort to hold on to the familiar of my skincare routines. I haven't felt much like blogging this month - not when the world seems so precarious at the moment. I've (begrudgingly) welcomed in a new decade with no real resolutions to speak of (I'm in the 'sure-fire-way-to-failure' camp regarding New Years resolutions). However, my feelings towards using up products in a timely manner, ensuring that there's as less waste as possible, and being more mindful about unnecessary purchases remain, as ever, my top priorities with my skincare stash. That being said, I haven't quite shaken my seemingly endless desire to obtain new products! I was pretty restrained during the Black Friday Sales and over the Christmas period but this month has seen me impulsively buy quite a few new products - some have been essentials but most have been indulgences!
