Monthly Favourites - October 2019

With the change in the weather comes a change in my skincare routines.
Now is the time for stepping up the hydration and skin-repairing products.
My choices for this month mostly reflects these seasonal changes - the products I'm loving are the skincare equivalents to pulling out the snuggly jumpers!

NK Naturals - Autumn Oil*
(* PR Sample)

I only heard about the concept of 'Seasonal Oils' last year and it's a concept that I'm a real cheerleader for. I love how they cater for the skin as it changes its requirements as the seasons change. Facial Oils are one of my favourite steps in my skincare routine and also the category in my collection that I have the most of!
When I first started using facial oils I was under the impression that one was very much like another, but with every new oil I tried, I was proven wrong!
Despite the recommendation by NK Naturals to use this oil at night, I've been using this oil in my morning routine. I find it just right to be worn under makeup without my face becoming too oily. The new design with the roller-ball application is actually much better in ensuring that I don't apply too much at a time (I can be quite heavy-handed with facial oils).
Autumn Oil contains Pumpkin Seed Oil, Red Raspberry Seed Oil, Benzoin, Petitgrain and Arctic harvested Blackcurrant.
Review to follow after a good testing period has passed.

Bumi Organic Skincare*
(* Some of these products were PR Samples)

I was delighted when Imogen from Bumi reached out to me to ask me if I wanted to try a couple of her products to test. I'd previously received the Bumi Face Polish in a Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box and had been impressed by her natural take on physical exfoliation, utilising natural exfoliators such as bamboo stem powder, poppy seeds and volcanic ash rather than harmful plastic micro beads.
She sent me the Body Polish with Hemp, Poppy Seed and Lavender and I just couldn't get enough of this glorious natural scrub.
But my absolute favourite product is the Night Repair with Broccoli, Cucumber and Rosehip. This is a super soft and velvety balm which smells incredible, is easy to apply, absorbs well and leaves my skin feeling really soft and smooth. Rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids and vitamins, this balm really gets to work deep within my skin overnight when my skin is in 'repair mode'.

Indie Lee - Rosehip Cleanser

Second cleansing is essential in my skincare routine, but unlike the first cleanse step (my favourite part of my routine), I've never really found a favourite second cleanser before. I've been jumping from product to product, never really finding one that I love enough to go back and repurchase.
After trying a small sample of the Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser in a Naturisimo Box, I was totally in love with this cleanser. I did go back and buy the smaller size and my infatuation hasn't lessened any of repeat purchase. This ticks all the boxes for what I'm looking for in a second cleanser - low PH, gel consistency, low or no foam, non-irritating to my eyes and non-drying.
It's definitely in the running to take the 'Top Second Cleanser' title!

Dames and Dimes
Chocolate Orange Cleansing Balm
Sunset Glow Recovery Balm

Last month, the Dames & Dimes free sample pack was one of my monthly favourite picks - and following on from that, I had to go back and buy a couple of full size products.
Dames & Dimes are such a feel-good, fun brand. Their products offer bright, vibrant and cheerful colours, sumptuous textures and playful scents.
They are such great value for money. Worth it alone for the presentation of these delightful products but they give fantastic results too.
The Chocolate Orange Cleansing Balm has been on my wish list for months now but I had promised myself that I would finish off a few of my current balm cleansers before purchasing. But when I picked up the Dames & Dimes free sample pack recently which featured their newest product, the Sunset Glow Recovery Balm, all hesitancy was pushed to the side and I had to make an emergency purchase!
Just look at those glorious colours! And believe me when I say that these smell just as good as they look!
Both are fabulously velvety balms which are an absolute joy to use.
Full reviews for both to follow in due course.
