Unboxing ~ Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box September 2019

This is the first bi-monthly box from Skin Organics Clean Beauty and it was certainly worth the wait!

The September Box celebrates 'Organic September' with the important message of 'One small swap can make a world of difference'.
This is a sentiment I wholeheartedly embrace. It's so overwhelming with how wantonly destructive humankind can be and like many, I often suffer from 'eco guilt', my efforts feeling terribly insignificant in such a big picture.

Organic September is an annual campaign led by The Soil Association. Their main aim is to encourage more people to try organic produce as a way to educate people about organic food and farming practices. Even if we just make small changes to our consumer choices - then 'one small swap can make a world of difference'.
The Soil Association are also leading campaigners to stop companies from 'greenwashing'. Products that bear the Soil Association certification stamp have passed their stringent organic standards and so as consumers, this stamp shows us that the products will contain safe ingredients and will be free from any misleading claims.

Every single product in this month's Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box has been certified by The Soil Association.

The Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box is a Bi-monthly subscription service offering a selection of five full/deluxe sample sized natural beauty, skincare and makeup products.
100% natural, organic, non-toxic, eco-friendly, cruelty free, ethically sourced and often from up and coming British Indie Natural Beauty brands, the products chosen are free from Parabens, Petrochemicals, PEGs (petroleum-based compounds), silicones, Sodium Laureth or Lauryl Sulphate, Phthalates, Propylene Glycol , Synthetic Colours and Fragrances, Triclosan,  Formaldehyde, Toulene, Benzophenone/PABA, Petroleum/Mineral oil, Alcohol, Urea, PEG, PG/BG, Dioxin, Aluminium, DEET, Camphor, Talc and Carmine.

I did initially miss not receiving a box last month, but actually, I think I'm grateful for slowing down the growth of my skincare stash! I made a conscious effort to use older items up and pass on items that were surplus so I had less to hoard!

Yet another stunning selection of products! Two entirely new-to-me brands, four brands I had never tried before and one item that was actually on my wish list! Paula does it again!

Let's take a closer look:

Verdant Alchemy - Drift Off Bath Salts
This is one of the brands who I'd not heard of before.
The Drift Off Bath Salts are infused with Lavender, Mandarin, Patchouli and Vetiver Essential Oils - sounds like a gorgeous mix!
I'm away at the weekend at a book fair and I'm taking these with me to the hotel to try and help me get a good night's sleep before a very early start.

Botanicals - Hands & Nails Replenishing Oil
The second new-to-me brand from this box.
The first thing I noticed (before looking at the ingredients) is a gorgeous punchy scent that reminded me of Licorice. It's actually Fennel Essential Oil, which is something I don't think I've ever encountered in a product before - and I like it!!
This surprised me as I cannot abide the taste of the Aniseed and Fennel flavours from the Umbellifer family but as a scent it works really well. Other ingredients in this blend include Rosehip Oil, Carrot Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Evening Primrose Oil and Frankincense and Lavender essential oils.
Even though this is an oil, it absorbs surprisingly well. I need to be careful with what I use on my hands as I deal with books and ephemera and cannot afford to transfer oil or grease onto the stock. but this doesn't appear to leave a residue, so hopefully I'll be able to use it during working hours.

Terre Verdi - FranchouliPom Nourishing Facial Serum
Yessss! So happy to see the inclusion of this serum in the box!
I've never tried anything from Terre Verdi before but have always wanted to.
This is their best-selling serum, suitable for dry and mature skin.
The Franchoulipom name stems from - you've guessed it - the inclusion of Frankincense and Patchouli essential oils and Pomegranate oil. And what a fab mixture it is!
This is an oil which feels heavier and very nourishing but actually absorbs really quickly without leaving any residue.

Lovegrove Essentials - Toning Mist
This is a brand I'd heard mentioned quite a lot recently but have never tried any of their products before.
The Toning Mist is an aromatic blend of floral waters which will tone, clarify and refine the skin. It's suitable for all skin types.
This sounds like it will make a great multi-use product to keep in my handbag. As well as being a toner or facial mist it can also be used as a cooling eye mask, as a makeup setting spray, to refresh the skin during travel and even as a cooling spray for tired legs and feet.
Always a fan of a good multi-tasker!

Casa Mencarelli - Crema Di Pomodoro - Tomato Night Cream and Cleanser

I whooped for joy when I saw this as this is actually a product that has been near the top of my wish-list for a while.
Casa Mencarelli is already a brand that I know and love (see my review of the Sol e Mare Sea Buckthorn Serum here). Lucia's products are always the best quality, show instant fabulous results and rate very highly on the 'Joy Scale'.
This cream can either be used as a cleansing balm or as a night cream.

Look at that stunning lemon colour and buttery balm texture!
Crema Di Pomodoro is rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins and carotenes, lycopene and phytosterols as well as other key nutrients to ensure healthy, radiant and soft skin.
So happy to finally have this in my clutches!

So, there you have it! Another fabulous box filled with Soil Association certified products. Every single product is a real treat and I cannot wait to bring them into my routines.
