Thoughts
Most overnight treatments I've ever used have either been quite heavy rich creams or oils, so I was pleasantly surprised at just how light and silky this serum is. It's more like a lotion in consistency and applies and absorbs really well. If I were to 'blind test' this on my skin, I'd actually guess it to be a hydrating serum as it has that same instant hydration and silkiness that you expect from a hydrating serum.
It makes such a refreshing change to be able to sleep in a product this light that still has the same kick and results as a more stifling, heavy overnight treatment.

Close of Play features Willow Bark and Papaya which are both natural enzymes - a much more favourable way to naturally and gently exfoliate the skin. Much better suited for sensitive skins and for skin like mine with broken capillaries where a more physical or chemical acid exfoliation can exacerbate broken capillaries making the skin look redder.
I can use this quite happily in the same routine as my retinol without experiencing any irritation whatsoever, so this is an absolute bonus.

So what can you expect the next morning?

Well you definitely won't wake up with your face stuck to the pillow as this serum absorbs so completely and your skin will feel soft and hydrated and minus an obvious layer of extra product before your head even hits the pillow at night.
The magic continues to work hard as you sleep ... or struggle to sleep in my case! But even if I don't get the required requisite of ZZZZZZs in every night, my skin, at least, doesn't suffer for it if I've used Close of Play the previous evening. My skin is bright and perky, plump and radiant on rising and is set up well to receive another day.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Steph is an absolute genius with the formulation of her products!
I think it's fair enough to expect some kind of compromise when using products that deliver - the scent might not be the best, it might not layer well with other products, it might feel tacky or take too long to absorb, you might have to be cautious about what you're pairing it with. But I can honestly say that with every single one of the Pure Savvy products I've tried there's been no compromise necessary. They absolutely hit the spot every single time - fuss free, uncomplicated, efficient and quick to use and oh so effective!
Pure Savvy has definitely cemented itself as my favourite 'Brand of the Year'.
