Love Absolute ~ Radiance & Glow Taster Kit Review

Love Absolute are a UK based natural Indie skincare brand.
All of their products are made from speciality grown English purple fruits containing anthocyanins and antioxidants, plus wild flower oils and organic oils naturally high in essential fatty acids, micronutrients and antioxidants.

Offering a comprehensive range of skincare products, you can't help but immediately notice and be totally enamoured by Love Absolute's ingeniously curated natural ingredients. I have a feeling that they may well be the alchemists of our time!

Love Absolute recently sent me their Radiance & Glow Taster Sample Set* to try out. This set of four 5ml samples contains Rose Glow Clay, Naked Rose Nutrition Cream, Soulful Spice Mask & Balm and Facial Radiance Oil.
This set usually retails for £24.00 but is currently on sale for £15.00.

As an amateur naturalist, Love Absolute is a brand that seriously appeals to me.
Seeing so many English-grown flower and fruit seed oils used in every product absolutely makes my heart sing!

Radiance Facial Oil
Full size is £37.00 for 30ml

The Radiance Facial Oil is a stunning, lightweight amber-hued oil. The base is comprised of British grown Black Blackcurrant, Poppy Seed, Starflower, Camelina (Golden Flax) Starflower and Avensis Oils and is infused with Jasmine absolute, Ylang Ylang and Geranium essential oils.
Avensis, also known as Ahi Flower and Corn Cromwell contains more Omega 3 stearidonic acid (SDAs) than any other plant oils, including Hemp, Chia, or Sacha Inchi.
For a more in-depth understanding of just how beneficial to the skin this particular oil is, Sarah from Love Absolute has written a detailed post about its benefits here.

As a disclaimer, my skin doesn't handle most oil-based products well when applied in my morning routine during the warmer months as I find that my skin becomes a lot oilier at this time of year. So I wasn't really able to give the Radiance Facial Oil a fair hearing regarding how it performs as a day time product as it was slightly too much for me on top of other hydrating and moisturising products.
However, nothing will stop me from enjoying the oil as an evening or night time treatment. The scent is relaxing and soothing which ups its score on the joy scale. Although it's a light oil you can totally feel it richly feeding your skin after application. As it works its magic throughout the night, you wake up with plump, hydrated and super soft skin.

Soulful Spice Mask & Balm
Full size is £49.00

This is my favourite product from the set. A gel-balm with a light granular texture with a great mustard yellow colour. There is a light sweet and spicy scent.
This is a multi-purpose product. Apply on to damp skin and the balm turns to a silky lotion as a cleanser. My skin felt deeply cleansed after using this - I mean, like it was a good old get-into-the-nooks-and-crannies spring clean type of cleaner! Despite this, it still manages to be gentle while really getting in there. My skin wasn't at all dry after washing off, although I did feel that I needed some more gentle products to follow up. I would personally avoid any astringent toners or active treatments after using this.
As a leave-on mask, there is a very gentle warming sensation. It does feel incredibly comforting and soothing.
Yet again, the oils used in this product are just phenomenal - Thistle Oil, Poppy Seed Oil, Starflower Seed Oil - all organic and all from English wild flowers. The yellow colouring comes from the Turmeric - a natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory which brightens, tones and refreshes the skin.

Naked Rose Nutrition Cream
Full Size is £37.00 for 50ml/£55.00 for 100ml

A super indulgent and rich natural fruit and flower cream.

I would consider this an excellent choice as a 'rescue cream' for when your skin feels compromised by environmental stressors (or self-induced over-exfoliation!). It contains vegan hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate skin. The English oils protect the skin against transdermal water loss and weather and pollution induced skin damage.

I found this just a little too rich for my skin as a daytime cream. It better suited my skin as a night cream, rounded off by an application of the Radiance Facial Oil. I found the combination of the two a fantastically moisturising and replenishing overnight treatment.
It's quite a 'bouncy' cream and does take a wee bit more effort to apply and absorb, but in saying that, it does ultimately fully absorb without feeling like it's sitting on top of the skin.

I just need to genuflect some more at the stunning ingredients used in the Naked Rose Nutrition Cream!

Ingredients:
Rose Hip seed oil, English Poppy Seed Oil, Safflower seed oil, English Blackcurrant seed oil, Cold pressed Raspberry seed oil, English Elderberry seed oil, Vegan hyaluronic acid and aloe vera, Geranium essential oil, Rose Centrifolia.

Rose Glow Clay Balm & Mask
Full size is £37.00 for 50ml/

The Rose Glow Clay Balm & Mask is another fabulous multi-purpose product.
A naturally exfoliating cleanser and mask - Rhassoul Clay and Kaolin even out skin tone, reduce blemishes, and smooth and clarify the skin. The Blue Clay oxygenates and softens the skin. Whilst the Rose Clay delivers antioxidants and vitamin C.

When applied to damp skin, the balm turns into a creamy lotion and melts away makeup, sun cream and other impurities leaving skin deeply cleansed, smooth and radiant.
As with the Soulful Spice balm, I like to leave this on my face as a flash mask before rinsing off to get the best of both worlds!

As a  stand-alone mask, I applied a thin layer onto damp skin and left on for about 15 minutes. The mask stayed moist for all of that time so I didn't need to keep spritzing whilst wearing it.
I absolutely adore the scent of rose and this balm and mask is scented with natural Rose Centrifolia flower extract, which not only smells amazing but helps to restore and calm skin.

It's an incredibly soothing mask. I used this in the morning and it left my skin feeling soft, clear and radiant - a great base for makeup.

Ingredients:
*Thistle Seed Oil,Rose Clay, Rhassoul Clay, Blue Clay,Crushed rose petals,
(English White Poppy Seed Oil) Papaver Somniferum, (English Camelina Seed Oil), Camelina sativa seed oil, (English Starflower Seed Oil) Borage officinalis,
English Kaolin, Dead Sea Salt, Bentonite, Rose de Maroc  *Glycerine*, Prunus amygdalus dulcis, Sweet Almond oil*, *Sucrose Laurate, *Citrus aurantium dulcis (Orange) fruit water* from 94% Organically produced ingredients.

The Radiance & Glow Taster kit is a fabulous introduction to the Love Absolute range. Every product gives you a great feel for the skill, creativity, effectiveness plus the superb ingredients that Love Absolute products offer.
Each sample pot gives a generous amount of product. Enough to enable you to make an informed decision about repurchasing full sizes or similarly ideal to take away with you when travelling.
I really look forward to trying more from this innovative natural brand in the future.

  1. the masks are some of my favs too :) they're so stunning! for the face cream and oil maybe try using less than recommended, as I found that helped them work better for my skin (a bit too heavy for me otherwise in this weather) x

    1. Yes, I'm finding that my skin is really needing so much less product in the warmer months - which is difficult for someone who loves to pile 'em on!!
