Love Lula Beauty Box - May 2019

The LoveLula Beauty Box is available as a one-off box for £19.95, or on a rolling monthly plan for £14.95 - both of these prices are inclusive of postage and packaging. Other subscription plans are available - Subscribe HERE.

Let's look inside May's box:

Box value: £67.00

Niice! Five products, four of which are from brands that I have not tried before. Four out of the five are full-sized products and there is one sample sachet.

Seascape Island Apothecary
Refresh Hand Lotion
(rrp £16.00)

This is a very generous full-sized product containing 300ml.
Beautifully packaged (I particularly love that the design continues on the inside of the box) but I did personally think that the extra cellophane wrap around the box was unnecessary.
This is a gorgeous light-weight hand lotion with a refreshing and zesty Lemongrass and Geranium scent. Non-sticky, it absorbs beautifully. I'd love to try some more from this Jersey-based brand.

Ayumi
Sandalwood and Ylang Ylang Body Scrub
(rrp £6.99)

A completely new-to-me brand. Ayumi is a certified vegan and cruelty free natural skincare brand inspired by the principles of Ayurveda. This is another very generous sized product at 200ml.
I had a look on Love Lula at the brand's other products and they all look so appealing. Great value too - all products are under £10.
I couldn't wait to try this as the scent is utterly gorgeous! As well as Sandalwood and Ylang-Ylang, the scrub also contains Patchouli, Lavender and Ginger which creates the most delicious woody, spicy scent. This is a fairly gentle body scrub. The pumice granules are not too harsh but certainly enough to slough off dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft, smooth but still well hydrated. But what it lacks in scrubbiness it certainly makes up for in creamy lather. I will definitely be repurchasing this.

Madara
RE:GENE Lifting Mask
(rrp £35.00)

I actually received this very same mask in another box this week! Not that I'm complaining at all. This mask is seriously impressive.
A healthy degree of cynicism is understandable when products promise instant miraculous lifting results, but I gotta tell ya - Madara weren't fooling around with their claims!
After first use, there is an undeniable tightening of my skin and noticeable firmness. And further surprise - my life-long static nasolabial lines seem much less deep and pronounced, as do my 'eleven' lines on my forehead. These effects may be temporary, but I'll take all I can get!
I did notice some slight blotchiness so there may well be an ingredient in here that doesn't fully agree with my skin. But this was after one use, so I definitely need to use this more  in order to give this a definitive review.

JOIK
Pastel Pink Silky Lip Balm
(rrp £6.00)

I'd heard of Joik but haven't yet tried any of their products.
I'm not usually a pastel type of girl, but I think this actually more of a dusky rose pink which suits my tastes much more.
The lip balm is quite solid and unfortunately, on first try, I had to press it quite firmly against my lips to be able to apply it well and this extra pressure made the lip balm break at the base (so now it's a wonky, wobbly lip balm). I'll have to see if I can fuse the base of it back again.
I checked out Joik's range on Love Lula and they have some really exciting looking products and really great value prices too. I think I may have to use my 25% off voucher to try some more of their range!

 Vestige Verdant
Organic Peat Mask

And finally, the sachet sample of another new-to-me brand - Vestige Verdant.
This Organic Peat Facial Mask contains just two ingredients - Sphagnum Peat Moss Extract and Aqua. I've yet to try the mask but I'm interested to see what it can do for my skin.

Another great box from Love Lula! They really do stock some fabulous natural brands and have the whole spectrum covered - skincare, hair care, body care, makeup and nails.
I'm delighted with this month's selection and there are several brands in here that I'd definitely like to try more of.
