Who?
Lime and Lilac is a British indie natural and handmade skincare brand - created by Lisa, who I first followed on Instagram for a while before she created the brand. Lime and Lilac Light Facial Oil was her first product and it's hard to believe that it only launched in April 2018.

What is it?
Lime & Lilac 100% Natural Light Facial Oil is a beautifully light and dry facial oil made from carefully selected seed oils which contain essential fatty acids and vitamins to support and enable skin to increase cell renewal, support collagen production, fight against inflammation and treat scar/blemish tissue. The oil is suitable for all skin types.

Full Ingredients
Carthamus tinctorius (safflower) seed oil, Citrullus lanatus (watermelon) seed oil, **Opuntia ficus-indica (prickly pear) seed oil, *Passiflora edulis (passion flower) seed oil, *Cannabis sativa (hemp) seed oil,* Argania spinosa (argan) kernel oil, Helianthus annus (sunflower) seed oil, Citrus aurantium (neroli) flower oil, Tocopherol (natural Vit E), Boswellia carterii (frankincense) oil, *d-Limonene, *Geraniol, *Linalol, *Farnesol

*Soil association certified organic and natural constituents of essential oils
**Organic and wild harvested

 Packaging
The oil comes in a Miron glass bottle with a glass pipette. It's available in three sizes - 5ml, 15ml and 30ml.

Scent and Texture
The oil has a beautiful light scent of Neroli and Frankincense which are two of my favourite scents. The scent is finely balanced - not too overpowering but enough to mask the nutty smell that you often get with facial oils. I don't mind the natural nutty scent too much, but I definitely prefer the Lime & Lilac scent!
It's immediately apparent that this is going to be a light and dry oil from the texture. If you test some on the back of your hand, it absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any heavy oily residue.

Application
Lisa's recommendation to apply the oil to slightly damp skin was a revelation to me. But once tried, I can certainly appreciate the benefits of applying the oil in this way. The slightly damp skins makes for a better slip, thus ensuring that you only need to use no more than 3-4 drops to totally cover your face, neck and décolletage.
This is an oil that I want to take my time to massage into my skin, savouring the scent and the beautiful light and silky sensation of the oil. At night, I choose to apply facial oil before a moisturiser (or night cream) but for morning use, this oil is enough to just be followed with my daily SPF.

Thoughts
I received this oil at a very fortuitous time - during the seasonal change between Autumn and Winter when you start to really notice the cold wind trying to whip up some arguments with your skin. At the time when the central heating goes on and you come inside from the cold, only to find that the air inside is drier, closer and warmer, and that too, brings further discomfort! However right you think your skincare routine is, there's no avoiding that awful tight, hot and dry feeling on your cheeks. Your skin is crying out for hydration, some soothing and relief from sensitivity.
Within a matter of days after first using this oil, that awful tight, dry and hot feeling on my skin (particularly on my cheeks) had completely dissipated. This is the first winter ever that I've not known my skin to be constantly suffering some kind of dryness, irritation or sensitivity issues. I've got a stash of balms all ready and waiting to combat winter skin issues, but since using the Lime & Lilac Facial Oil I haven't had the need to reach for a heavy duty rescue balm on my face once!

It was love at first use with this oil. From the beautiful light scent, to the effortless application and super quick absorption, to how radiant, glowy and soft my skin felt after using it.
One of the best things that I found using this oil was that I could happily use it in my morning routine before makeup. I've generally gotten my oiliness under control over the past couple of years, but I wouldn't usually use a facial oil in my morning routine as it would be a sure fire way to expect oiliness throughout the day. Not so with the Lime & Lilac Facial Oil. Any worries about my base makeup sliding around on my skin after using a facial oil were quickly put to one side. In fact, together with my regular SPF (Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence) I found the oil to work better than any primer I've tried.

Although I've only been using this facial oil during the Autumn and Winter seasons, I'm expecting that it will be just as effective during Spring and Summer too. One of the benefits from using this oil is that it leaves my skin with a lovely natural and radiant glow. So I'm hoping that come summertime, when I wear less foundation (or none at all) that this oil will give my skin just enough of a healthy glow to give me the confidence to go out bare-faced more often.

What I love about Indie Skincare brands is that there is a real connection to the brand owners/formulators. Thanks to social media interaction you get a real feel for the person behind the brand and that actually makes a huge amount of difference about how you feel about a product. This isn't just another mass-produced product from a giant, faceless brand - these products are hand-made, often in small batches, with all the love, personal attention to detail and well-thought out best intentions in every jar/bottle/pot/tin. And you feel all of that input with every use!
Lisa herself is extremely personable and her passion and dedication is evident, both on social media and within her product. Plus she has the most amazing, radiant skin - which is the best advertisement for her product!
