Ioma - Lip Lift and Expert Rituel Review

I received some products from Ioma to test, including the Ioma Lip Lift and the Expert Rituel, which is a handy box of mini samples (enough for a weekend away) of several Ioma products.

Ioma Lip Lift - £44 for 15ml BUY HERE

What is it?

Lip Lift is a product designed to plump and contour the lips and can be used as a standalone lip treatment or as a base pre-lipstick. According to Ioma it provides 4D effectiveness:
* helps 4 key zones: the lips, the contour, the lip shape, the corners of the mouth.
 * 4 actions: plumps, smoothes, restructures, moisturises.
 * 4 dimensions: immediately, long term, on the surface, deep within.

Key ingredients:
Volulip: Mimics the effect of hyaluronic acid injections doubling the synthesis rate for this molecule, which is naturally present in the skin. Recreates lip volume and redraws the contour.
 * Seacode: Reduces appearance of lines. Also improves the synthesis of essential proteins in the dermis.
 *
Hyyaluronic Acid: immediately plumps & restructures in depth.
 *  Cupuaco Butter: Ensures long-term moisturising by limiting imperceptible water loss.

Packaging

Lip Lift comes in a solid 15ml tube with a shaped tip and pump applicator.

Scent and Texture
I'd only ever come across lip plumpers in lip gloss style texture (and sometimes balm); however, this is most definitely a light cream. It smells (and tastes) like a generic hand cream or face cream. I was surprised that it wasn't menthol flavoured or scented, as most lip plumpers tend to have a strong menthol flavour.

Application
Despite the shaped applicator, I preferred to dispense a small amount on my finger and apply to my lips like a lip balm. Surprisingly, there is no noticeable tingle (again, another feature of most lip plumpers I've tried). And, as previously stated, it tastes of hand cream or moisturiser, which is a bit off-putting.

Results

Lips before Ioma Lip Lift

Lips after Ioma Lip Lift

I think you can see that there's some kind of instant visible result.
I found the most of the plumping happened on my top lip. That middle 'bobble' (and I know there's probably a technical term for that!) was definitely plumped - or to perhaps use a non-marketing-friendly word, swollen. And, although not quite as dramatic, I do think that my upper lip looked like the photos you see of lips post-filler injections.
This visible result lasted for a couple of hours, or as long as the product stays on your lips, depending on eating and drinking.

Also noticeable in comparison, is the obvious moisturisation on my lips.
I think I can definitely vouch for immediate results, but as for long-term results, that would be harder to quantify as I do use several other lip care products.

At £44 this is quite expensive for a lip treatment. If you were self-conscious about your lips and really needed/wanted this type of product then it may be worth the expense. I haven't quite reached the age where the lines on my lips are noticeable or concerning me, so I probably wouldn't want to spend this much on such a product. However, for a non-surgical, instant fix, this probably would be worth the cost. Just not for me - at the moment. Although I will happily re-use this product till it runs out.

Ioma Expert Rituel Tabs - £9.00 7x 1ml BUY HERE

The Ioma Expert Rituel Tabs are a great way to try products from the brand, or are just enough to take on a weekend away. Each tab contains 1ml of product.
In this kit you get:
* 2 x Fresh Gel Eye Make Up Remover tabs
* 2 x Flash Youth Eye Contour Concentrate
* 2 x Youthful Moisture Cream Day and Night
* 1 x Lip Lift

The fresh gel eye make up remover was just awful! I could only bear the first use as this gel stung my eyes so badly.
The Flash Youth eye contour concentrate fared better - it was soothing and moisturising. However, even after using up both tabs, the samples were just too small to give me a good feel for how the eye cream would work over a period of time.

The Lip Lift was my favourite of all of these tabs, and as described above, results are instantaneous, so you can get a good feel for how the product will work for you.

The Youthful Moisture Day and Night cream was very rich, so much so that I felt it was too heavy for use in the morning before makeup application. This worked better as a night cream. In fact, it's pretty ideal as a travel night cream, especially if you are staying in a hotel with skin-moisture-sucking air conditioning as it keeps you moisturised throughout the night.
