Beauty in Hanguk Bespoke Beauty Box
I've only been on Instagram since earlier this year and it's definitely overtaken Facebook and Twitter as my social media of choice. Mainly, when I happened upon the Instagram Asian Beauty Community. A tight-knit global community of like-minded fans and obsessives of Skincare (mostly Asian). There are so many well-informed people in this community all posting new skincare finds and favourites, daily skincare routines, reviews of products, monthly challenges, giveaways and hauls. It's certainly opened my eyes to so many new skincare and make-up brands and products but the good side/down side is that my wish-list has grown exponentially!
One of my most favourite of these instagrammers is a fabulous woman called Shereen who has just started up her own personal shopping/ bespoke beauty box business direct from Seoul, Korea - called Beauty in Hanguk. I kept seeing her post videos as she went shopping in Seoul and shared her finds and swatched and tested products for us all to drool over. And then I saw the kind of bespoke boxes she was sending out to her customers and knew that this was going to be the box to beat them all!
Beauty in Hanguk offer 4 tiers of bespoke beauty boxes - the items you receive in each depend on your personal profile and how much you spend.
The boxes are one-off payments and you just go in and order each month, rather than have a monthly fee taken from your account - so there's no actual subscription.
The tiers are:
Trial - $19.90 (approx. £15)
Standard - $34.90 (approx. £26.25)
Luxe - $49.90 (approx. £37.50)
Insanity - $69.00 (approx. £52)
Plus shipping to the UK, which is $9.00 (approx. £6.75)
Every time you want to make an order you fill out a personal profile form. This isn't your average tick-box profile form - you are encouraged to pretty much say what you like, what you don't like, what brand or product you really want to try, what scents and ingredients you like and which you don't, if you want lots of sheet masks or none, if you want food or lifestyle products, more make-up than skincare, if you accept decants (particularly helpful if you're unsure about a product), characters you like, colours you like - anything and everything you want to specify - the profile is as long as you want to make it.
And I made my profile ultra specific. I mentioned Huxley, Sulwhasoo, Laneige and Gudetama specifically when I filled out the form for my standard bespoke box.
Further to this, Shereen is uber aware of what you post on Instagram and comments you make on other posts - in this way, she really gets to know what you're about skincare-wise. And this is why she has become so popular so very quickly.
Oh and one more thing - she also asks if you want items for any of your family members. I asked her if she could get hold of any Summikko Gurashi for my son and she was able to source him an item he hadn't been able to find online. I tell you - the woman is amazing!!

I also won a sample of Troiareuke BB cream (which I have absolutely loved but at $90 for the full size it's sadly out of my price range).
So this was a pretty amazing and intensely personal beauty box. I just can't wait to see what she comes up with next time (I've already pretty much begged her for some Hanyul!!)
