Weekly Makeup Bag #31

Image
I'm getting quite used to wearing very little makeup on these hot summer days and quite enjoying it too (although it's not particularly helping with getting any panning done!).   * Vita Liberata Self-Tanning Anti Age Serum I was sent a bunch of Vita Liberata tanning products last week to test and review and this anti age serum works on the same principle as the Isle of Paradise self-tanning drops. Just add 2-3 drops in with your day moisturiser to achieve a natural looking tan. So far I've used this just a couple of times and in comparison to the Isle of Paradise drops, I would say that the Isle of Paradise has the edge. These seems slightly oilier and I can't say that I've really noticed anything more than a touch of very subtle colour on my face. This isn't actually a bad thing for me as I don't want any more than that but compared with the Vita Liberata products for body (which are pretty intense!) these are very, very subtle. Saying that, you c...

July 2018 Empties

Image
Another good month for using up products. Looking at this lot makes me feel slightly better at some of the purchases I've made recently!    Skincare Empties     Some of these have been hanging around for ages so it's nice to finally finish them up.   WR - Will repurchase/have repurchased MR - May repurchase in the future (after I've tried other things) WNR - Would not repurchase   * Garnier Skin Active Rosewater Cleansing Milk WNR - nice enough but I'd rather use a cleansing balm or oil. * L'Oreal Age Perfect Refreshing Toner WNR - this was something I picked up on a night away and had forgotten a toner. I packed it away for ages but when I spotted it again and decided to finish it up, it wasn't too bad, so it wasn't a real pain to use up. I just have lots more toners I prefer. * Scinic Aqua All-In-One Ampoule MR - I love this stuff but it's a massive 250ml tub and only has a years shelf-life. I wouldn't have b...

Project Use It Up - August

Image
I only finished 3 out of 6 products from last month's Use It Up project, so I'm determined to do better this month. I'll hold my hand up to it - I may have slightly tipped the balance in my favour this month so that the outcome is more successful!     * Decleor Micellar Oil I didn't finish this last month so it remains in this month's project.   * Rosewater I initially bought this rather basic Rosewater to use as a spray mist and also to mix with powder clay masks. However, recently I've been enjoying using it as a morning cleanser. Floral waters have a pretty restricted shelf-life so I need to use this up soon before it expires. I also have some of this decanted into an old Pyunkang Yul mist bottle (as I really loved the fine spray on that bottle) so there's a bit more to use up than what is shown.   * Espa Floral Fresh Toner This was my least favourite item from the Espa Optimal Skin Experience set. Luckily, it's only a sm...

Project Use It Up - July Results

Image
Not a brilliant month! Just 3 out of 6 products finished.   * Scinic Aqua All-In-One Ampoule I only just scraped by finishing this up by the evening of 31st July! I've been using 2-3 skins of this ampoule every morning and night for almost every day in July. I really like this product for it's intense burst of hydration but it's such a huge pot of product (250ml) and only has 12 months shelf life once opened. This is definitely on my 'will consider repurchasing' list for the future but at the moment I have more hydrating products I'd like to use first.   * Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Essence This was such a chore to get through! There wasn't too much product left but I found that when I included this in a routine, it would generally be to the detriment of another product. It always left my skin feeling a bit tacky so wasn't great for morning use and it had a tendency to cause any facial oils to pill, so didn't work great in the ev...

Weekly Makeup Bag #30

Last week was so bloody hot that I really didn't want to wear much makeup and quite frankly, when I did, it looked very over the top! So this week, even though the weather is set to be a bit cooler, I'm sticking to the Erborian CC Cream as the only base I'll be wearing (if at all) and some under eye concealer.   * Isle of Paradise Self-Tanning Drops I've been adding these to my moisturiser just once or twice a week. * Under-eyes - Model Co Instant Radiance Under Eye Concealer (not pictured) - wasn't sure how keen I was about this last week - the colour is slightly orange-y but when used with the E.L.F Under Eye Primer it actually worked really well. * Face - Erborian CC Crème * Contour - Illamasqua Gel Sculpt Contour (not pictured) * Blusher - Nars Orgasm * Mascara - Ciate Wonderwand I'm loving this mini mascara and would consider buying a full size in the future. * Eyes - Urban Decay Naked Heat     Urban Decay Naked Heat Palet...

Espa - Optimal Skin Experience Review

Image
The Espa Optimal Skin Experience Set £30 BUY HERE     I was sent this set to try out a few months ago. I've only ever tried Espa products when I've previously received them in beauty boxes. What I knew and remembered about them first and foremost was the luxury, spa-feel of the brand. Rich, luxe textures and amazingly good scents!   For the price, this set is a fantastic introduction to the brand, or else a mini spa-at-home experience on days when you want that extra bit of self-care and love.   The set consists of:   Optimal Skin ProCleanser (30ml) A 3-in-1 gel cleanser, exfoliator and face mask.   Hydrating Floral Spafresh (12ml)   Toner in a glass spray mist bottle.    Optimal Skin ProSerum (10ml) A facial-oil type serum.   Optimal Skin ProMoisturiser (15ml)  Rich moisturising cream in a jar.       ProCleanser   A 3 in 1 cleanser, exfoliator and mask t...

Weekly Makeup Bag #29

Some of last week's makeup choices felt like they were bordering on 'duty' ov er joy, so I really wanted to pep up my choices for this week! Certainly picking eye shadow singles for last week felt quite boring and I have been re-considering some of my Colourpop Super Shock choices - several of them were 'how exactly am I supposed to wear this?' shades. It makes me realise that I much prefer a palette over singles - so this week, it's not one palette I've chosen but two - both of my build-your-own Obsession palettes are featured. I enjoyed the 7 days - 7 lipsticks challenge I set myself and was excited to choose seven for this week too.     * Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream - It's so hot this week that I don't think I'll be wearing much makeup - especially as I intend to be at the beach and swimming in the sea a lot. I've also added the Obsession Foundation Darkener to mix with this BB Cream, as it's too pale on its own for su...
