As we draw closer to Christmas and think about buying gifts for family and friends, I'm making a concerted effort to buy the majority (if not, all) of my gifts from smaller, Independent businesses rather than faceless, corporate, big companies.
As a small business owner myself I know how great and fulfilling it feels to have a customer base who appreciate unique products and personal interaction with every sale.
I run my business in a way that I like to be treated as a customer myself.

Not every small town is graced with a range of independent, artisanal shops so it's great that there is so much choice buying online - you can still support the Indies without stepping outside your front door!

I was delighted to be contacted by Saidat at Adorli recently as it was an online shopping site that I'd not previously heard of and when I heard about the site's ethos, I was even more delighted to have another online shopping outlet to be able to support.

Adorli showcases a beautiful range of the finest kind beauty brands - all run by women owners.

Saidat sent me a selection of products which are for sale on Adorli. There are lots of brands I know and already love and some new-to-me brands that I'm eager to discover.

Let's take a look at some of the products on offer:

Kathy Sue-Ann's Super Nourishing Organic Body Butter - Grapefruit

This time last year I'd never even tried a whipped body butter but now I'm hooked! I absolutely love the contrast between the light, whipped, mousse-like airy consistency with the deeply, rich nourishing results.
Kathy Sue-Ann's Organic Body Butter delivers all of this in one product.
It's an absolute delight to apply - a really light, soft and silky balm-like texture which melts instantly into your skin, leaving a protective silky cocoon but with no heavy residue.

I'm crazy about the zingy and zesty grapefruit scent.
I've popped this into my swim bag to enjoy after my morning lengths at the pool. The awakening and uplifting scent really helps to keep my energy levels and positivity up after exercising. Plus the nourishing base of shea and cocoa butters keep my skin softened and hydrated after the harsh chemicals from the swimming pool.
This is a product I know I'll be going back to again and again!

Chaaboo Soaps - Cherry Tea & Lavender Tea

I'd not heard of Chaaboo Soaps before but was delighted for the introduction.
These gorgeous smelling mini soaps would be perfect for travelling or as guest soaps. They would also make fantastic little Stocking Fillers and you can mix and match if you can't decide which scent you'd like to try - they all sound amazing!
Perfect little hand-sized bars.
These bars are vegan and cruelty free. They're made with Olive Oil, Shea Butter and Tea Leaves. There are eleven varieties available at Adorli - these mini sizes and regular sized soap bars (at £4.50).
I received the Cherry Tea Soap and the Lavender Tea Soap and they both smell delicious!

Honeypie Minerals are a brand that I've had my eye on for a while now and I'm delighted to finally get the chance to try them out!
Loose mineral blushers are my favourite type of blushers. I love how pigmented they are and how easy they are to build-up and blend when using a fluffy blusher brush.

Candy Blush is a beautiful pale matte pink shade. Exactly the type of shade that I like to wear in the winter when I'm a bit paler - I like that pale pink look that makes my cheeks look slightly flushed in the cold weather!
Just as I'd hoped, the Candy Blush from Honeypie Minerals is a beautiful subtle shade which wears very naturally on my skin but could also be built up for a stronger look.
I'd definitely like to try more from Honeypie minerals in the future.

I'd not heard of V Lace Cosmetics before but I'm always eager to discover new-to-me makeup brands so this was a fantastic introduction.
V Lace Cosmetics are cruelty-free and vegan-friendly.
There is a wide selection of bold and vibrant lipsticks from V Lace's 'Matte Collection' available at Adorli.

I received the shade 'Ego' which is a stunning vampy, winter berries, dark  red colour.
This liquid matte lipstick is super pigmented. I'm often a bit nervous of bold colours but if I'm going all out, this is exactly the kind of deep red colour that I'd opt for. The doe foot applicator makes for easy application and means that I can outline my lips without having to use a separate lip liner.
Its staying power is quite remarkable. After applying, I blotted my lips with a tissue and it was quite clear that this was not going to budge! There wasn't any transference on my mug of tea that I had waiting for me after application so that was a good start!
I know that matte lipsticks can sometimes tend to be on the drying side and can also be quite unforgiving on dry lips. But I liked that this didn't have a powdery feel when dry and neither did it exaggerate the lines on my lips.
The biggest lipstick test for me personally is how a lipstick fades.
Because I'm not one to re-apply regularly (I forget to!) then I prefer a lipstick that fades uniformly. I'd rather it faded uniformly than last for longer. I can't bear the idea of walking around with patchy lips or lips that just have the only the outline still remaining if I forget to check in the mirror!
So, how did the V Lace lipstick fare in the 'fade test'?
This beauty did not budge!! By the end of the day, I had a tiny amount of fade in the centre of my lips, but no patchiness and other than that tiny degree of uniform fade, this lipstick remained as bold as when first applied. Even after eating and drinking.
