Casa Mencarelli - Crema Di Pomodoro

What is it?
A hydrating and nourishing balmy cream which can be used as a night cream, as a first cleanser and also as a mask.
COSMOS Organic approved.
Ingredients
Olea europaea (Olive) fruit oil*, Solanum lycopersicum (Tomato) seed oil*, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil*, Cera alba (Beeswax), Vitis vinifera (Grape) seed oil*, Oryza sativa (Rice) bran oil*, Daucus carota sativa (Carrot) seed oil*, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) seed oil.
*organically grown, 99% organic of total
Scent and Texture
Although it's called a cream, the Crema di Pomodoro has more of a balm texture - albeit on the creamy side. It's not heavily scented but has a light natural fragrance. I can definitely smell the beeswax and a touch of the sweet scent of carrot plus the slightly smoky tang of tomato seed oil.
Application
As a night cream: Take a pea sized amount of the cream and let warm on your palms and then massage into the face and neck by gentle pressing into your skin. Continue the massage with upward strokes and circular movements.
As a first cleanser: Massage on to face and neck to remove makeup and SPF. Wash off with a damp face cloth. I use slightly more than when using it as a night cream.
As a mask: Use double the amount and massage on to your face and neck. Leave for ten minutes (or more) and then remove with cotton wool or tissue.
Thoughts
Ever met a product that you can use at both the start and end of your evening routine?
No? Me neither - until now,
The Crema di Pomodoro is a multi-tasking balm, doubling as both a first cleanser balm and also as a night cream. You can also use this as a deeply nourishing face mask.
As with all Casa Mencarelli products, the Crema di Pomodoro encapsulates a very Italian experience in this little glass pot. It just feels like the Mediterranean sun has infused through every particle - from the ingredients through to the sunny yellow colour.
Formulator and brand owner Lucia clearly has much love for her Italian heritage and that love is evident in abundance in every product.
I was delighted that the main attraction of the Crema di Pomodoro (and the clue is in its name!) is Tomato Seed Oil. Rich in antioxidants, essential fatty acids, vitamins, carotenes, lycopene and phytosterols - Tomato Seed Oil is one of nature's superstars, providing nourishment and protection and promoting healthy skin.
Other notable ingredients include Rice Bran Oil, which leaves your skin incredibly soft as well as soothed and hydrated. Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which contains Vitamin E and Squalane to soften, protect and restore skin. And Grapeseed Oil, which is non-comedogenic so is great for acne-prone skin.
I've tried the Crema di Pomodoro as a first cleanser, as a mask, as a night cream and have also used it on the back of my dry hands to soften since it is non-greasy. Do I have a preferred usage? It would actually be hard to pick one as the balm has performed brilliantly in every way that I've utilised it.
I had the smaller 15ml pot (which came in a Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box) so by using it in so many ways, it hasn't lasted me as long as if it were single purpose use only.
I would recommend purchasing the larger sized (60ml) pot but for me personally, the larger pot costs a bit more than I would usually spend, so I will probably repurchase the smaller pot and maybe not use it as a first cleanser to make it last longer for me!
