What's on the shelves at T.K Maxx - July 2019
You may be able to tell that I've got a thing about shopping in T.K Maxx!
I just love the anticipation of not knowing what you're going to find at any given time.
Most purchases I make from T.K Maxx are pure impulse buys - I very rarely find anything I actually need, so it's perhaps not good for my stash to keep adding these impulse purchases to. But I can't stop!!
I recently wrote a post about buying 'unknown' brands from T.K Maxx and how they often turn out to be real treasure - at much reduced prices. You can read that post here.
Here's what was on the shelves in my nearest T.K Maxx today (Castle Mall branch in Norwich).
I spotted the Timeless products straight away. The HA & Vitamin C serum was just £7.99. However, I resisted as Aloe Vera is quite high in the ingredients. I previously bought the Timeless HA Mist and found that it didn't really agree with my skin because of the Aloe, which is such a shame as this was a great find. Lots of lesser known brands 'treatments' and serums here. Worth a punt if you want to try out a Retinol or Vitamin C serum.
There was lots of Nip + Fab (there seems to be quite a lot around recently) and also Super Facialist products, plus brands like Burt Bees. Those ten pack of DewyTree sheet masks are great too - but I did resist picking a box up as I'm not buying single-use sheet masks anymore.
The 'Spa & Wellness' section - always lots of Natural products on this shelf. Pillow mists, toothpaste, Dead Sea bath salts, body scrubs and a really good selection of natural deodorants.
So many natural deodorants - most were from brands I'd not heard of but there was some Tisserand in there. These cost around the £3.99 price mark. Worth a try if you're looking to switch to natural deodorant. Still too much plastic though!
The 'Natural Beauty' section is always well-stocked. Again, lots of unknown international brands but some more well-know names too such as Ren.
More serums and treatments (Nip + Fab and Super Facialist being some of the better known brands). A good mix of oil cleansers, Micellar Waters and facial washes here. There's usually some Korean skincare brands that you generally can't go wrong with.
I spotted my favourite Spanish brand Formulathions! Best believe I grabbed for this 'Blue Marula' facial oil with Blue Tansy. Read all about my love this unknown brand here.
Natural dental products like Tooth Powder and Pulling Oil. I'm interested, but haven't tried anything yet...
And finally the makeup section.
To be honest, I very rarely buy any makeup from T.K Maxx (unless it's still sealed) as most of it has been opened and swatched, so the hygiene levels are very dubious!
But today I was surprised to see Becca (opened), Milk Makeup (one pan was broken) and Winky Lux (still sealed). The Dr Jart BB Mate Contouring kit is something I already tried through a beauty subscription box. I wasn't a massive fan of it - and these have been hanging around for months, so no one else is biting either! Also today, lots of Anastasia Beverly Hills, Rodial, Too Faced, Lipstick Queen and other known brands - but to be honest, the shades available weren't too exciting.
My purchases
I obviously picked up the Formulathions Blue Marula Facial Oil (£7.99) and was happy to see another bottle of the Natura Estonica Ginseng & Acai Face Tonic (£2.99) which I'd recently finished off. I reviewed this briefly here.
