Latest in Beauty ~ February Choices
I have long been a practitioner of checking out Latest in Beauty's 'Product of the Day' as one of the first things I do when I wake up every morning!
But they've been making it a bit easier for us all in the past few months, by showing all the month's products in one fabulous round-up photo at the beginning of each month, and also with weekly email reminders about what's current and what's coming next.
This won't stop me with my early morning checking habit though, it's become quite an enjoyable ritual!
This year, Latest in Beauty have also upped their monthly game by creating a specially themed box each month and having a monthly 'Haul of Fame' star product.
For February the theme is 'Beauty Crush' and this month's 'Haul of Fame' product is a mini size of Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara.
Although some of the products sell out incredibly quickly (another reason for my early morning stalking - it means I won't miss out on those must-have products), Latest in Beauty will ensure that each month's Star Product is available to all for the entirety of the month. So in this case, if you snooze - you won't lose.
Let's have a reminder of how Latest in Beauty Works:
The 'Beauty Novice' is £9.00 for 3 items.
The 'Beauty Enthusiast' Box is £15.00 for 6 items
The 'Beauty Enthusiast' Box is £15.00 for 6 items
The 'Beauty Guru' Box is £18.00 for 9 items.
All box prices are inclusive of P+P.

I've been choosing the 'Beauty Novice' box of three items. You can also order one extra box for the same price every month. This is the best option for me so I can give myself the best chance of getting hold of the more popular choices - I found that when I waited to choose products for a larger sized box, my choices had often sold out.
I've ordered two boxes this month.
In my first box I chose:
Marc Jacobs - Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
Argentum Apothecary - La Potion Infinie
Malin & Goetz - Eucalyptus Deodorant
and an added extra gift was Aromatherapy Associates Revive Bath & Shower Oil
The main product that I was desperate to try was the Argentum Apothecary La Potion Infinie. A full size (70ml) of this costs an eye-watering £158. Even if I could afford to buy this, I'm not sure I'd go there - I'm a natural born frugalista and happy to stay true to that ideal!
The first listed ingredient is Colloidal Silver, which has long been used as a medicinal dressing for wounds. It also contains DNA HP which is a marine-based hydrator which can carry 10,000 times it's own weight in water (Hyaluronic acid carries just 1000 in comparison). It promotes cell regeneration by stimulating collagen and elastin, helping to eliminate free radicals, and carries the healing properties of silver hydrosol directly into the intercellular space of the skin.

There's absolutely no doubt that this cream delivers instantaneous results - I could immediately notice that my skin was visibly tightened and firmer.
I found the cream to be quite heavy - I used it at night, but it didn't absorb as fully as I'd hoped and I actually felt a little greasy on waking the next morning.
Luckily, you only need the tiniest amount for your whole face, neck and eye area, so I'll be able to get quite a lot of use over this and therefore be able to see how it works in the long-term too.
Because of the 'sneak preview' emails, I knew that there were going to be some products from a brand who I'd never heard of before, but was interested in checking out.
So I picked up an extra box this month too.
My second box contained:
Emulsion - Clay Mask Base
Emulsion - Matte Maker Essential Blend
Emulsion - Kind Karma Extract
and the extra gift included was Sanctuary Spa - Body Moisture Spray
They offer core base products, such as a clay mask base, cream scrub base, eye cream, body mist, shampoo and conditioner bases, hand wash, shower gel, dry oil, body cream, face cream, face wash, micellar water and aqueous serum and oil serum bases.
You then choose your Essential Blend and Extract 'add-ons' or boosters. So, for example, I chose the Matte Maker Essential Blend, a blend with properties that help regulate sebum production. This blend contains Geranium, Rosemary oil, Clary Sage and Petit Grain. This would be best suited to add to the face cream base, but as I have far too many face creams in my stash, I didn't choose the face cream. There's no reason why I can't add this to my regular face cream as a booster though. It can also be added to the hair care bases .
I also opted for the Kind Karma Extract, which seems to be a basic Calendula extract. It can be mixed to the hair and skincare bases as a powerful antioxidant for strong hair and plumped up skin.
There are also Fragrance Add-ons and Exfoliation Add-ons and (neither of which were available as a product choice from Latest in Beauty).
I've yet to try any of these out, but I will report back if they prove exciting!
