Urban Decay - Beached Palette
It's been a long time since I fell in love so hard and so instantly with a palette (in fact, it was last summer and that time it was the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette!)
These colours! The palette pretty much features the colours I have been dreaming of for the past couple of months for this perfect eye look that I had been imagining.
Sure, I have a LOT of these coppery/bronze shimmer tones in other palettes, so it was more the blue shades (mixed with the coppery shades) that really got me all a-flutter!
Let's take a closer look at each shade:
* Salt - An ivory satin shade. This is my least favourite shade in the palette and perhaps the weakest. It's great to have a below brow/base shade included (surprising how many palettes feel really incomplete without this type of shade). Slightly chalky.
* Blaze - A Light metallic peach with a pink shift. Worn alone, this is a really flattering summery look and looks great on tanned/darker skins. I did feel that I had to build it up a bit to get good coverage and I would've preferred it if the pink shift was more uniform. Very subtle.
* Heatwave - Metallic rust - the metallic shades are the stars of this palette. Highly pigmented, rich and buttery with great application.
* Daybreak - A reddish deep terracotta matte shade. This applies more red than I thought which is personally a shade I stay away from usually. However, this, the only matte in the palette works surprisingly well with the other metallic shades.
* 16th Street - Metallic bronze-gold shade. I think I could probably find this shade in several of my other palettes, but if I were to swatch them all side by side, the depth and richness of this shade would probably come out top.
* Double Dip - Bright metallic teal. Oh these blues! Definitely the love-at-first-sight pans in the palette for me. Looks great when paired with any of the other shades at the outer corners of the lids and on the lower lash line. This is the Kingfisher feathers-alike.
* Plunge - Deep metallic blue-green. If 'Double Dip' reminds me of a Kingfisher then this is the peacock's feathers - the sheen, the lustre and the colour. My favourite shade in the palette.
* Wedge - Deep metallic brown-copper. Another shade that is very similar to those in other palettes but I still love it!
