Unboxing ~ Look Fantastic Beauty Box July 2018
The Look Fantastic Beauty Box is £15 per month (free P+P) Subscribe HERE
I love that this box comes so early in the month! The money gets taken from your bank account on the 1st and it's usually here by the 4th!
This month's edit is called 'Golden Goddess'.
And this box colour is my most favourite yet!
Box Design Score: 5/5
A gorgeous matte gold lid with black titling and a matte black box base. The tissue paper and shredded packaging are all black - it looks very luxe and 'sophisticated summer' rather than the usual funky neon 'young summer'.
The Reveal!
Excitement Score: 4.5/5
I recognise all the brands but have not tried them all.
* Filorga - UV Bronze After Sun
Excitement Score: 4.5/5
Filorga is a brand, who I feel, always delivers. I wasn't actually aware that they had a summer range of products. This is a triple action gel-to-oil formula that calms the skin after you've been out in the sun. It sounds like more than your usual after sun lotion - this contains Argan, Apricot, Almond and Avocado oils, Hyaluronic Acid and an Amino Acid complex to nourish and moisturise your skin.
* Doucce - Freematic Highlighter Mono in 'Sparked Ray'.
Excitement Score: 3.5/5
My first introduction to the brand Doucce was also from the LF box - it was two tiny eyeshadows, also from their Freematic range. This highlighter is a better size (enough to at least swipe your brush over!). The shade is very subtle (which is fine for me as I'm favouring the 'less is more' look at the moment) and the advice in the accompanying Look Fantastic booklet is to actually dampen your brush slightly before applying for a more metallic glow. The powder feels quite dry and slightly chalky, rather than that buttery feel that marks out a great quality product. My one gripe about the Doucce makeup is that unless you are using their Freematic system, the packaging is not the most makeup bag friendly that you can get. I did try and fit this into my magnetic palette but it's a little too deep and the lid wouldn't fully close on the palette. Maybe I'll de-pot it so it fits better!
* Kerastase - Reflection Bain Chromatique Shampoo
Excitement Score: 4/5
I pretty much rely on Beauty Boxes to get my fix of fancier hair care products - otherwise, it's just down to Superdrug for me!
This shampoo contains Vitamin E and UV Filters, defending your hair against anti-oxidant aggressors and premature colour fading. It's also infused with Linseed Oil which is good for protecting coloured hair. I'm looking forward to trying this out in the morning.
* First Aid Beauty - Face Cleanser
Excitement Score: 4/5
I've been eyeing up this brand for a while and wanting to try something - and now here's my chance!
* SVR Laboratories - Sebiaclear Gel Moussant Cleanser
Excitement Score: 4/5
Another brand I've been wanting to try for a while. This face cleanser is purifying and exfoliating - so I'm hoping it's not too much of a physical exfoliator.
I think generally, getting two of the same type of products in the same beauty box is a bit of a let-down - but I'm glad that at least they're cleansers. I do love trying new cleansers out.
* Lancer - Omega Hydrating Oil
Excitement Score: 4.5/5
Always happy to see a facial oil - even if it does have to take it's place in the very long line of facial oils that I have waiting to try out!
Apparently this is a lightweight, balancing oil which delivers essential hydration, polyphenols and antioxidants to the skin. Loving the sound of the ingredients - this contains Argan, Olive, Shiunko and Licorice.
This sounds like it could be a great morning oil.
So all in all, a very exciting box!
