20/20 Vision Project Pan

This year I started to notice on Instagram, the concept of Project Panning - where people would choose certain items (usually makeup but skincare also) to try and 'pan' - meaning to finish up a product so that the pan is showing (like an eye shadow pan).

This concept was fascinating to me because I love the idea of really getting your money out of a product but also somewhat intimidating - as I don't think I've ever completely finished any makeup product (with the exception of mascaras and foundations). I've never finished an eye shadow, an entire lipstick or a bottle of nail varnish. I've been far too preoccupied with going on to the 'next shiny thing'.

But this obsession with forever finding and buying the 'next shiny thing' has lead to an excessive abundance of makeup items that I will never be able to finish before they expire.

My introduction of the 'weekly makeup bag' has been a nod towards the project pan concept - cycle through my entire makeup collection to ensure I'm at least using everything that I have in my collection, rather than forgetting what I have and wasting money by ignoring them until they're too old to use.
My 'Project Use it Up' is also a kind of project pan - where I make a concerted monthly effort to use up skincare items that have been hanging around for too long.

BUT NOW! I just read about a huuuuge project called the 20/20 Vision Project. It's a project devised by three Instagram project panners - @abeautygurumademedoit @kookypans and @makeuptips102.

The idea is to choose 20 makeup items and 20 beauty/skincare items to use up by 1/1/2020. This is an epic 18th month project - which seems incredibly daunting, and perhaps not the best way to introduce myself gently into the project pan community!
But I've been lurking for long enough - I think it's time for me to jump right in at the deep end.

Here are the products I've chosen to pan:

Skincare
This category is not too scary for me - however, it always take a lot longer than you think to get through a product, so maybe I shouldn't start off so confident!

Starting Points 10th July 2018

Some of these are rough estimates!

1. Cosrx - Good Morning Low PH Cleanser - couldn't see through the packaging, so this mark is a guess!
2. VeeBeautyLdn - Lash & Brow Oil - Still 75% left of the product.
3. Pixi Primer - Hardly used.
4. SuperDrug B - Micellar Water
5. Espa - Hydrating Floral Spa Fresh Toner (mini)
6. Ultrasun - 30SPF for face (mini) - brand new and full.
7. Dr Botanicals - Duo Moisturiser - approx. 90% left.
8. Sally Hansen - Diamond Strength. Have no idea how much is left!

9. Garnier Body Lotion - Supersize - Brand New. This will be going into my swim bag.
10. Ziaja - Olive Oil Cleansing Milk - Brand new and unused.
11. The Body Shop - Drops of Light Peeling Gel - Couldn't see how much was left, but I estimate about 75%.
12. Milk Makeup - Urban Defence Mask - Only used 2/3 times.
13. Superdrug Naturally Radiant - Glycolic Cleansing Pads - hardly used - about 85% of the pads left.
14. Nuxe - Reve de Miel Lip Balm - This is already featured in a panning project, my monthly Use it Up project. About 75% remaining. Trying to hurry up with this one before it goes bad!
15. Garnier - Rosewater Day Cream - about 85% full. This is also in my swim bag.

16. The Hero Project - Vit C-30 Serum - I only use this twice a week so I hope I can finish this off. About 60% still remaining.
17. The Ordinary - Caffeine Solution - 50% left.
18. The Ordinary - EUK 134 - Mostly a winter product, hardly touched.
19. The Ordinary - Alpha Lipoic Acid - Only used once a week so progress is slow. About 70% left.
20. The Ordinary Resveratrol + Ferulic Acid - Used in conjunction with the Vitamin C serum so only used twice a week. Approx 65% left.

Makeup
As I said, I've never fully finished a single lipstick, eye shadow or nail varnish, so this is the category that really terrifies me! Some of the products I've chosen are minis so it doesn't feel too overwhelming!
