Weekly Makeup Bag #17

* Foundation - I'm using my D.I.Y cushion foundation again this week. Love how it's enabled me to use up a poorly performing foundation (Kiko) and how by adding some bespoke touches, it turned it into a very wearable foundation that's perfect for my skin.
* Under Eye Concealer (not pictured) - Inglot - I thought that this would be used up by last week but it seems never ending! Maybe I can finish it this week.
* Powder - TonyMoly Cat's Wink Compact
* Blush/Bronzer - E.L.F - in 'Fiji' - This is a new purchase and to be honest, I was looking for the palette that is the dupe for the Nars Orgasm/Laguna duo, which Superdrug didn't have in, so I added this instead as the free item in my 3 for 2 deal.
* Highlighter - Gosh Lumi Drops in 'Peach' - This is the decider this week for the 'throw or keep' pile. I think this may have been one of the first highlighting products I bought and it's always been a bit of a confusing one. Too peachy to be an all-over illuminator; not peachy enough to work as a highlighting blush, and just a little too subtle as a highlighter.
* Contour - Model Co Contour stick
* Eye Shadow Palette - I Heart Revolution - 'Chocolate Vice' - It's great to have cycled around to this palette again. All my favourite shades in here in a mixture of matte and shimmer. Great value for money too.
* Mascara - Maybelline Total Temptation - I picked this up a couple of weeks ago (along with a replacement L'Oreal Lash Extatic) in the Superdrug offer as I saw that people were comparing this favourably with the Benefit Bad Gal Bang mascara. I can already see that this mascara is far superior to the Bad Gal Bang
* Eyebrows - Revolution - only a few weeks old and I've already forgotten what it's called. It's the one with the definer pencil at one end and the spoolie at the other. I have to apply this quite gently so as not too get heavily crayoned eyebrows, but the spoolie helps brush out and blend any obvious marks. I also picked up an Essence - Clear Lash & Brow mascara as I'm still not giving up on he idea of a brow mascara, but haven't been able to find a good colour match yet, so decided to go clear just to see if I like the look. This cost just £2.00.

Keep or Toss?

From last week's choice, I decided to get rid off the Nude by Nature powder sample - it just didn't work for me - slightly too dark and I think it exaggerated any textural issues in my skin.
The Benefit Bad Gal Bang mascara that I bought last week for £10.50 for the mini size is the most spiteful piece of make up that I have ever owned! I just cannot see what all the fuss is about! It's heavy and clumpy and smudges terribly. It weighed my eyelashes down making them look shorter and straighter. And to add insult to injury (well, more injury really), the bloody thing made me lose some eyelashes as it was so tough to remove! I don't want to throw it as it was very pricey for a mini, but I can't pass on used mascara. I'll probably end up keeping it, glaring at it every time I see it, and then end up chucking it in a fit of bitter rage and disappointment!

Thoughts on last week's choices

I started the week not thinking that I would be de-cluttering anything, but ended up getting rid of another three items.
The Sleek i-Divine palette in 'Au Naturel' is such a muddy and uninspiring palette that I only managed to last for a couple of days before I decided to get rid of it. I swapped it for the W7 - On the Rocks palette (ABH Subculture dupe) - which for just £5 is a really fantastic quality eye palette and definitely a keeper!
I also decided to get rid of the Colourpop 'Weekend Warrior' quad. Even though I've had this for less than a year, it's a very limited choice of colours and I really didn't feel too inspired by it.
