Weekly Make Up Bag #13

Ohhh my face was SO mashed up last week after my full-face threading/waxing experience.
I didn't/couldn't wear any make up for three days and even after that, my skin was just a horrible blotchy, lumpy mess.
Even now, a week later, it's still not returned to how it was pre-threading and I can't get a good read on how anything (skincare or make up) is working for me.
But I look forward to choosing my weekly make up bag and feel that after 13 weeks into this project, I'm getting to know the entirety of my collection again (although there are still a few months left of getting through eye shadow palettes!!).

A bit of a peach/orange/copper/apricot kind of week!

* Foundations
I picked up a couple of foundation samples in the last couple of weeks - Bare Minerals Pro and another shade in the Clinique 'Even Better' foundation - and I wanted to give them a proper testing, but I just don't feel that my face is going to be an accurate base at the moment to give them a fair trial. Hopefully as the week wears on, my skin will be better (please!). I'm also adding this sample of the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and trying to use up the No7 Skin Illuminator.
* Primer - Laura Geller Spackle Treatment Primer - This is, so far, failing to impress. But because it's been a bit of a skin anomaly week, I need to be fair and keep trying for another week.
* Under Eye Concealer (Not pictured) - Inglot. Still. Using. It. Up.
* Under Eye Brightener - TonyMoly Panda's Dream Brightening Eye Base - I've had this for ages but not used it for ages. Let's see if it can give me that under eye brightness I so desperately crave!
* Powder - L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Powder - I'm a little obsessed with making a bit of a dip in this compact. Will I hit pan this week? Also, I realised, after choosing a loose powder last week, that I prefer a pressed powder. And I seemed to need more touch-ups last week and this powder is great for that.
* Powder - Physicians Formula Glowing Nude Powder in 'Light' - I picked this up cheap in Seville and have yet to try it out properly.
* Contour - Makeup Revolution Contour Palette (Not pictured) - for the nth week running, but it never fails!
* Highlighter - Fenty Beauty - Killawatt in 'Girl Next Door/Chic Phreak'
* Mascara - L'Oreal Paradise Extatic - My favourite mascara. This feels like it may be on the way out, so I feel I should use this again this week as I'm thinking about getting a new mascara in the Superdrug 3 for 2 makeup offer and don't want it to feel put out when I introduce another Sister Wife!  (You will always be Wife #1 Paradise Extatic).

* Blusher - Ruby - I got this in a beauty box and tried it out when I first got it (probably last spring). Every time I opened my blusher drawer, I keep seeing this but it's a very 'different' shade for me - pretty much an apricot colour - and I'm not sure if I can carry this off. So I'll be deciding at the end of the week whether to keep or throw this blush.
* Lipstick - Bourjois Rouge Velvet  in Shade 'Abrico'dabra'. This is a deciding week for this lipstick too, but I'm pretty much on the side of 'bin it' before I've even started! Never before have I been so incensed after bringing a lipstick home. I bought this last summer when trying to step out of my lipstick shade comfort zone and was interested in trying out a soft orange colour. However, there is NOTHING soft about this lipstick at all. Despite swatching well on the back of my hand, when applied to the lips I couldn't believe how this turned into such a beast on the journey home back from the shop! It was gummy, gloopy, lumpy, sticky but also dry at the same time - so matte that it draaaagggged across my lips and stuck in lumps but somehow managed to streak too! And then after sticking like Play Doh upon my lips, it just wouldn't budge!
I've exfoliated my lips, worn a pretty heavy-duty lip balm underneath to try and eliminate some of the drag but I just don't see how I can get this to work. See? I'm hating on it already. Not sure if I can be mindful enough to give it another chance.
I've also added in an E.L.F Lip Balm Tint in a similar peachy shade as a way of chiding the Bourjois 'This is what you are meant to do, and this is only a tinted lip balm'!

One lipstick that I would trust with my life is the INC.redible Metallic Lip Paint in 'Foiling Around'.
* Eyeshadows -I saw a look on Instagram that I was blown away and really wanted to try out for myself. It was an eye look that had a mid-blue at the outer edges of the eye and a metallic copper on the lid. I chose the Colourpop Pressed Powder Shadow in 'Tea Garden' as I knew this gives a really gorgeous buttery, pigmented copper colour.
I also chose the I Heart Makeup 'Pink Fizz' palette - not only because it had the shade of blue I was looking for, but also because I like these lighter shades and I'm always drawn to shades like this at the beginning of Spring.
