March 2018 Empties

Another good month for getting through some products - I took minis and samples with me on our trip to Seville, so got through a few there.
My skincare inventory is still huge and it doesn't help that I seem to be adding more than I use up!

Skincare Empties

*Boots No7 Hot Cloth Cleanser - This took ages to get through and made me realise that cream cleansers are my least favourite cleansers! This did the job okay (although it didn't remove eye make up fully) but it just was a bit too boring to use!
* Eau Thermale Avene - Thermal Spring Water Mist - I initially only started using facial mists in hot weather but grew to understand the multi-uses for a good facial mist. This mini can lasted a while and I would definitely repurchase when I've gotten through some other facial mists.
* The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2% - This has been my least favourite product from The Ordinary! The greasiness and gritty texture made this virtually unbearable to use on my face, so I finished it up on my body. After all that, I still didn't notice any brightening effect.
* The Ordinary - Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% - From my least favourite product to my all-time favourite product from The Ordinary (and probably my favourite ever skincare product). I was sad when this ran out as I knew how difficult it will be to get hold of again - this is forever out of stock. I have been looking for alternative, good value Niacinamide products, but I'd rather have this.
* Alpha-H Liquid Gold Rose - I enjoyed using this (particularly as it has a rose scent) but I didn't really notice that it did too much for me - will stick with Pixi Glow Tonic, Bravura London's Glycolic Toner and even the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic toner over this.
* TonyMoly  Cucumber Water Gel - This wasn't actually an empty but I had to decant it into another bottle as it was leaking everywhere!
* Aromatherapy Associates - Hydrating Rose Skin Tonic - I thought I had gotten an 'off' bottle as this had the strangest vinegar-y smell. But then I heard someone else had the same complaint. I took this on holiday but actually ended up tipping the last of it away as I just couldn't get past the funky smell!
* Bio-Extracts - Glow Boost - I was excited to try this mini but the results weren't as impressive as I had hoped for. Mixing this with moisturiser or foundation wasn't too successful as it seemed to keep separating again.
* Murad - Essential-C Day Moisturiser - I really, really loved this day moisturiser with added SPF 30 and would happily buy it again, if it wasn't so expensive! I shall keep my eye out for deals - I'd even be happy with another sample size!
* Ren - Youth Vitality Day Cream - Another product that I had high expectations for but was just 'okay'.
* Jane Scrivner Nourishing Cleanser - I took this little sample tub of cleansing balm with me on holiday and in a warm bathroom it was a gorgeous creamy-balm texture and lovely to use. At home in my cold bathroom it had set solid and took a while to emulsify on my skin. I did really love this but would probably only get the best use out of it in the summer when my bathroom doesn't set any oils into stone!
* Caudalie - Vinosource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum - There seems to be much love for Caudalie products, but with the samples I've tried, I'm just not getting it. This serum was hydrating enough but I didn't really think it was anything special.
* Roger & Gallet - Le Soin Aura Mirabilis - This tiny sample vial of facial oil gave a tantalising tease of what you could experience if you went further and bought a full size! However, it was such a small sample that it didn't pique my interest far enough to get a good feel for it as a product. I did look up the full size price, but it was above my spending comfort zone for me to want to buy.
* Bielenda Professional - Active Concentrate Plant Stem Cells - I use one of these 3ml vials every time after I use my dermaroller. It's actually quite hard to pat 3mls of watery serum into your skin. I'm not entirely sure what, if any, results I'm seeing from using these in my post-dermarolling routine so I may not repurchase.

Sachet Samples - Some sachet samples are enough to make you fall in love with a product instantly, but unfortunately, none of these did it for me. Not even the Pyunkang Yul sample set which surprised me as I loved their Mist Toner. Purito - Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence and Vitamin C Serum; Benton - Cacao Moist and Mild Cream x2; Missha - Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule; TonyMoly - Panda's White Magic Cream; Ioma - Flash Youth Eye Contour.
Actually, I lie - the Sulwhasoo Snowise Ex Cleansing Foam was absolutely gorgeous and I would love to buy more of this.

Sheet Masks
Only 9 sheet masks and sachet masks used last month. I did pick a few more up (lots in Seville) after my stash ran to as low as 7 masks, but I was obviously a bit too hesitant to use many! My favourite out of all of these masks was the Acwell Honey Anti-Wrinkle Mask.

Makeup and Perfume

* Serge Lutens - Chergui - I had this perfume for so long but hardly ever used it because it was so expensive that I was saving it for 'best'. It took me up until now that 'Best' hardly ever comes around so use it up before it goes off. I've chastised myself now - don't NOT use things just because they are expensive - that's exactly the reason to use them often and well!
* Guerlain Terracotta Bronzer - This was a lovely sample and I would happily buy this full size version if it weren't so expensive. It's definitely something that would be on my 'consider-if-it-were-on-sale' list.
* Marks and Spencer Pink Nail Varnish mini - This was one of the minis that came in a set at Christmas. The colour was cute (not my usual) but the application was so terrible - it was thin and streaky and just didn't look great however many coats I applied. De-cluttered!
* Pop Beauty - Eyeshadow Trio - I've had this for a while and realised that I don't reach for it often as the formula is far too chalky and weak. I have similar colours in other palettes - so this is being de-cluttered too.
* Rodial - Glamolash Mascara XXL - I didn't really get on too well with this mini mascara. It smudged and flaked and I was happy to be done with it.
* Primark PS Brow Gel - Thought I'd give this a try as it was only £1. Sometimes it doesn't matter if products only cost £1 (think Essence!) but this time it did matter. Horrible brown colour that I can't believe would match anyone's brow colour.  In the bin!

 Hair and Body
* Batiste Dry Shampoo - Always have a can of this on standby. My teenage son uses it more than I do!
* Schwarzkopf Blond Me Shampoo - I got this in a Beauty Box months ago and finally got round to using it up by keeping it in my swim bag. It was nothing special and I wouldn't look out for it.
* Ziaja - Hand Cream with Argan - I absolutely loved this hand cream. I used it up to 4 times a day as it was such a pleasure to use. Smells gorgeous, sinks in quickly leaving hands nourished and soft and it also had a brightening effect, I'd never had results like this from any hand cream before. Will definitely be repurchasing when I get through some more hand creams already i my stash.
* Apothaka SOS Hand Recovery Cream - I got this tiny sample when I bought the Nail & Cuticle oil. I was trying to hold onto it for as long as possible as it was the most luxurious and beautifully-smelling hand cream EVER! Unfortunately, it's quite expensive and usually way more than I would consider spending on a hand cream but I think I may have to make an exception for this product. I'm just in love with it!
* Korres Bergamot Pear Body Milk - Used this up within a week after swimming post-shower. It was okay, but not rich enough for me.
* Molton Brown Gingerlily Body Wash - Another beauty box mini that went into my swim bag. I was quite disappointed with this and expected more from Molton Brown. The scent was a bit weak - I had really hoped it would smell more gingery.
* Decleor 1000 Grain Body Exfoliator - Another Beauty Box mini that was a bit disappointing. Wouldn't repurchase as you had to use too much product to get any coverage on your body.
