December 2017 - Empties

I ended off last year making a written inventory of every single skincare product I owned, be it full sized, deluxe sample or sachet sample, and I was pretty shocked how much it was!

 

I'm not going to force a No-Buy on myself, but I really do need to use up these products before buying more of the same. I think my biggest hoard is the moisturisers - it looks like I have enough to see me through the whole of next year!

 

I did pretty good in December getting through some products:

 

 

* The Body Shop - Camomile Cleansing Oil - I loved this but the pump was so messy! I did replace this with the much neater Body Shop Camomile Cleansing butter.

 

* The Face Shop - Jeju Volcanic Lava Clay Mousse Pack - I'm not entirely sure this ever worked the way it was meant to. It was meant to be a mousse type clay but it never foamed up properly. The packaging was disastrous on this product, it took forever to get any product out and there was no other way to open it, so I just gave up on this product!

* Garnier - Skin Active Soothing Botanical Toner with Rosewater - Absolutely LOVE this as a soothing and refreshing morning toner. I will repurchase at some point in the future when I've used up some of my other toners.

* Gatineau - Floracil Plus Gentle Eye Make Up Remover - was okay but I still think plain old Micellar water does a better job!

* Naruko - All in 1 Facial Cleansing Precious - Not empty but expired.

* Gatineau - Melatogenine Aox Probiotics Youth Activating Beauty Serum - I would love to repurchase this, but it's just too expensive!

* Scinic - Propolis Ampoule 95 - I loved this but I think it may have been discontinued so I've been looking at replacing it with the Iunik Propolis ampoule.

* Laneige - Fresh Calming Serum - Used this up just to use it up! I didn't really feel that it was anything special.

* Elemis - Papaya Enzyme Peel - I loved this so much that I did buy the full size. This is the most effective but gentle peel I have tried.

* Decleor - Hydra Floral Hydrating gel cream - Again, just another so-so cream. Used this as a morning moisturiser.

* Merumaya - Melting Cleansing Balm - This was absolutely gorgeous. I would love to repurchase this at a later date when I've used up my other cleansing balms.

Small Samples

* Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra Wear - This was one of the samples I used in my foundation search. I like this and it was on the short-list.

* Nars - Velvet Matte Tint - There may have been something wrong with this sample - it really smelled of glue!

* Whamisa - Organic Flowers Foam Cleansing Cream/Toner and Eye Essence - I couldn't really get a feel for the cleanser and toner as the samples were quite small but I liked the eye essence.

* Estee Lauder - The Illuminator Primer and Finisher - Didn't do a thing for me.

* Sachajuan - Moisturising shampoo and conditioner - Again, these samples were too small to get a good feel for. I had to use another shampoo as my hair didn't feel clean after using this sachet sample.

Sheet Masks

* Vprove - Isoflavone Elasticity - This was one of the Mask n Chill masks - I really loved this and would love to get my hands on some more.

* Etude House - Snail Mask - I don't remember that this did anything special.

* Watsons - Red Rose Calming & Softening - Loved the scent but it wasn't particularly memorable.

* Gesgep Preparing Mask - I used this on Christmas morning and it was really fabulous. Would love to buy more.

* Fruit Fix - Pomegranate and Blueberry Face Mask - another pretty average experience.

* Missha - Herb in Nude - Again, just okay...

* Rue KWave - Expert Hydra Care Mask - I liked this one, I remember it being nicely hydrating and absorbing well.

* Papa Recipe - Bombee Whitening Honey Mask - I know that people seem to go crazy for the Papa Recipe masks but I wasn't completely sold.

* 111Skin Bio-Cellulose Facial Treatment Mask - My favourite mask of all time! I would happily wear one of these every night of the week if I could afford to buy even one pack!
