Passionflower Cleansing Oil texture after water is added.

Application
Shake gently before use.
Dispense a couple of pumps onto dry hands and massage all over the face and neck to dissolve daily grime, makeup and SPF. Is suitable for use on the eyes and in fact, makes for a fantastic eye makeup remover.
Add water for the oil to emulsify. Remove with warm water and face cloth.
Steps can be repeated for a second cleanse.
Alternatively, can be added to damp hands which emulsifies the oil into a lightweight milky cleanse. Use with a silicone facial brush for a deeper cleanse.
A recommended step is to leave as a mask before washing off - this really helps to dissolve your daily grime PLUS it gives extra time for all the goodness to sink in.

Thoughts

The Passionflower Cleansing Oil is Lime & Lilac's most recent offering and the final product from the range that I got to try.
And oh my, if there ever was a case of leaving the best till last...

I always thought that I preferred cleansing balms over oils, but I think that I may have just been swayed after using this incredible oil.

It's very rare to find an oil-based first cleanser that emulsifies, let alone one that emulsifies quite like the Passionflower Cleansing Oil. I'm not sure that I've ever encountered a cleansing oil that could justifiably be counted as a first and a second cleanser.
There are many elements of magic in the Passionflower Cleansing Oil but it's transforming properties are perhaps its most astonishing feature. When water is added during the rinsing process, the oil turns into the most remarkable silky, light milky lotion. Easy to rinse off with water alone, but I always like to get in a very gentle exfoliation by using a face cloth to remove my first cleansers. Repeat the process and there's no need for a face cloth on your second wash as this rinses off easily and quickly with just warm water. Your face is left clean, soft and un-stripped of moisture and with a lovely healthy glow.
For a couple of years I have only used floral water (and the occasional clay powder wash) as a morning cleanser as I find that this helps regulates sebum control and makes me less oily throughout the day. But I was interested to see how the Passionflower Cleansing Oil would work for my skin as a morning wash and the results were very positive. Its uber gentle cleansing and non-stripping qualities left my skin well set for the day - and no oiliness throughout the day either.

I like to leave the Passionflower Cleansing Oil on as a mask when cleansing, this not only gives the gorgeous and effective ingredients more time to feed into my skin but also really ensure that all the daily grime and makeup is thoroughly lifted away and dislodged from my skin. Plus I really enjoy the gorgeous scent of Neroli and Mandarin - any excuse to bathe in that scent for longer!

I'm trying so hard not to fall into the trap of venerating this oil and guarding it as a 'save for best' product, it's that good!
But when you're offered such a truly luxuriant and opulent oil which feels like a 'top drawer' product in every aspect then it's pretty hard not to slip into being a bit of a miserly hoarder!
But let's strip it back - there's actually no need, price-wise, to hold back on using this as it's really good value for money. Added to that, it lasts a long while too - even when you do use it consistently every day over a period of time. I think I still have that mentality that something this gorgeous needs to be saved for best, when in reality, why shouldn't I have the best for my skin every single day? Where is that rule written?!
There is one member of the Lime & Lilac fan club who actually uses the Passionflower Cleansing oil in the shower as a body wash! Which, I'm sure, is an absolutely amazing experience but for me that's a level of decadence I could only aspire to!

Without doubt, the Passionflower Cleansing Oil easily takes top spot as my favourite first cleanser of the year, if not my favourite oil cleanser ever.
