Late to the Party

  Week Commencing 29th January   Into week 4 and rather than getting bored, I'm getting more enthused as this mini project rolls on. I'm even getting a bit more militant (well, slightly) in that I've pared my choices back to just one palette this week. I found that with too many choices, I was dithering a bit with my eye make up - it wasn't really pushing me to try new looks. It's not like this is a makeup diet - I can always reach for that cream bun (aka shimmer eye shadow) if I feel I need that extra energy... let's see how it goes!   * Foundation - The Ordinary Colours I've been using samples for so long that I'd forgotten what my current stash of foundations feel like! And straight away, going back to The Ordinary Colours - I'm reminded why I went on that search for the perfect foundation. This just isn't right! It's okay, but it settled in my pores on my cheeks and I just didn't feel satisfied.   * Under Eye Conce

When having the mega clear-out at the beginning of the year, I had in mind that I needed to declutter make up that was way out of date. But looking at my stash, the majority of it was bought within the last year!   I definitely went on an unfettered spending spree on make up and skincare last year and I think this is a good way to take account of what I actually own (although I'm making no promises that I won't buy each and every single highlighting product that catches my eye!).   Polish brand Ziaja (pronounced Ji-Ya) is a producer of pharmaceuticals and high-quality cosmetics based on natural ingredients for face, body and hair care. It is a family-owned company, established in 1989 in Gdansk by pharmacists Aleksandra and Zenon Ziaja.   They have over one thousand products within many, many different ranges. The ingredients read similarly to many high end brands ( hyaluronic acid, squalane, ceramide, marine algae  - to name a few) but the price point definitely falls in the range of budget beauty.   I first heard about this brand on Instagram (where else?!) when someone reviewed a Ziaja Goat's Milk eye cream stating that it absolutely worked for them (which is unheard of, generally in eye product reviews) but the biggest eye-catcher for me was when they mentioned that this eye cream cost under £2.50!   I of course headed straight over to the Ziaja retailer on eBay ( Love Little Prices ) and was pretty impressed and amazed at the ran

  For week commencing 22nd January   Last week I managed to finish off the E.L.F mascara and introduced the mini Rodial mascara. I was a bit disappointed that the Colourpop 'Weekend Warrior' palette slightly bored me and hardly used any of the lipsticks I picked out for the week. Must try harder with the lippie!     This week's bag:   * Foundation (not pictured) - Still using up the samples! These include Nars and Estee Lauder Double Wear.   * Under-Eye Concealer -  OLD / FAVE  Inglot - Third week running for this. This is lasting forever!   * Powder - OLD TonyMoly Cats Wink - Third week running for this powder compact too. Still not reached pan.   * Contour - FAVE Makeup Revolution - Second week running for this. Most of my contours are in this one palette, so it makes sense to stick with this or a while.   * Blush - OLD /  Hardly Used  - Lipstick Queen - I picked this up in TK Maxx purely because I wanted to 'own' a Lipstick

After the slight disappointment of last month's box, this month's was back to it's usual superior standard I'm glad to say.   Although, I just want to go back to last month's box as three of the six items turned out to be items that I really enjoyed using and would repurchase full sizes of - The Figs & Rouge Hydra Activ Day Cream,   The Gatineau Melatogenine Aox Probiotics Serum  and the Polaar Genuine Lapland Hand Cream .        A nice and simple design - cornflower blue lid with a mint green box base.      On first glance, it all looks pretty exciting! For week commencing 15th January 2018 So I actually really enjoyed the challenge of sticking to a make up bag of items to use through the week. But ever on to the next - I kept thinking about what I was going to add in the next week's bag.
