Nature's Notes London are a small-batch soap maker from London.
What first really drew me to their products was the clever packaging around the soap to make them look like cassette tapes.
When looking further into their Etsy Shop I read that every single soap was inspired by a particular song. I love this idea of matching scents to songs and delivering them in a soap bar!
Every single one of the Nature's Notes soaps sound beautiful. Such an amazing selection of scent combinations and songs to choose from!
But I was immediately drawn to these two spicy scented soaps.

Dark, mysterious, sensual and spicy, the Pitch Black Soap is one of the most glorious smelling soaps I've ever tried!
The 'Pitch Black' Soap inspired by 'Paint it Black' by the Rolling Stones completely captures the essence of the song. Brian Jones of The Stones held a deep but often tumultuous relationship with Morocco. He particularly had an affinity with Moroccan music - bringing the music of The Master Musicians of Jajouka to a western audience. It's Jones' Sitar playing on the track which gives the song an exotic feel of tiled Riads, bubbling Hookahs and colourful spices and the stunning scent of the soap matches this mood perfectly. Frankincense brings those warm, spicy and resinous notes and the spicy punch of Turmeric compliments this so well.

This soap is well-suited for skin prone to breakouts. The activated charcoal acts as a mild exfoliant and helps to detoxify the skin and remove impurities that clog the pores and cause acne. It also leaves skin smooth, cleansed and super refreshed.
With its pitch black colour and ribbed sides, this hefty 120g soap bar is as attractive to look at as it smells!

Lambada and Pitch Black are as different as night versus day with their colours. If 'Pitch Black' is the dark, mysterious stranger then 'Lambada' is the happy-go-lucky party-goer, happy to chat and share a joke with everyone they meet!
'Lambada' transports you slap bang into the centre of the joyous chaos of Carnival in Rio. With its care-free, bright and happy orange colour. This soap is scented with Sweet Orange, Patchouli, Cedarwood and Ginger, and brings you up-lifting warmth, cheeky spices and a big hit of sweetness in its scent blend.
In their 'sleeve notes', Nature's Notes explained their scent choices:
The bouncy bassline in the song is represented by grounding Patchouli and Sweet Orange represents the summery accordion. It really translates so well!

It's the inclusion of Annatto Seeds which give Lambada its glorious bright orange hue.
